    Interesting Yahoo article

    I saw this on the yahoo home page...I thought it was helpful and interesting. Anyone else read it? Any thoughts, or comments on how you would incorporate the article into your LDR?

    I think thats really helpful those in long distance relationship or even with people who are not. I know i definitely try to carry on with a few of those 6 habits, and they end up being helpful in the long run.

        Good article, with a lot of good ideas. I agree with all 6 points and actively try incorporating them already. I think #3, "Nurture your separate selves", is especially relevant for people in LDR's, since it can be easy to get a little lost sometimes.

          That is a good article- I know we for one have to work on #3- we're pretty inseparable when we're together- it's a lot easier for me to do that LD, because of the time difference, I have a huge gap of time to fill. CD it's more difficult because we create what we call "The Couple Bubble", it's definitely something to think about.

          We definitely do the fight fair one- no name-calling, yelling, disrespecting is allowed- if I feel like I will yell I go off skype for a bit, calm down, and we sit and talk rationally. You can't kiss and make up the way CD couple do, so its better to keep the arguments as minimal and healthy as possible.

            That was an awesome article!! I have a particularly hard time with the "Nurturing Your Separate Selves" one, but we've been working on that together. It's hard when all I can think about is how I wish he was here with me and we could do this together, but it's amazing having more to talk about when we get together, and I love hearing about the awesome things he does when we're apart. As for the "Mutual Admiration" one, I do that all the time, and he loves it XD I can pick out so many little things about him that I notice and it makes me feel good to see him smiling over webcam when I can pick stuff like that out.
