    Origami Kit/ Date

This is one of my insomnia inspirations (I think it's pretty cool, but forgive me if it has been mentioned elsewhere. I did a little search, but there were no specific threads out there...here goes!). I was thinking that this would make a good gift and a date.

You could make two origami sets (twins, so that you each have one to work with). Since I am so keen on Christmas things right now, I thought that I could find out the standard size of origami paper and cut holiday wrapping paper into origami-sized paper (say...about 15-20 sheets per package). Then, I would find directions for a simple origami design that would be fun (cranes, frogs, hearts, etc.) and print that out on nice paper (2 copies again). I would also include a mini sewing kit with a needle and a metallic-coloured thread (e.g. silver would be nice if the paper has blues and greens). Lastly, I would write a little note to insert in the kit, which describes that we can use our Christmas origami kits on an e-date together. We will do all the folding and then can use the needle and string to thread them together into one, long ornament that can be strung horizontally or vertically (or you could put a loop in each item to hang). I would likely package the kit flat, with clear-ish wrapping and a nice ribbon.

That is such a sweet idea! I, for one, am a HUGE fan of arts and crafts, and love how original and fun this idea is! I know my boyfriend would have fun doing it. He likes little projects like that.

I know there are tons of origami pages out there, but here's one I stumbled upon recently...

It's really cool because it organizes projects by categories and level of difficulty.
AND you can choose to view an animation or a diagram!

    Good luck!

          ORIGAMI!!!... sorry haha

Anyways, that sounds like a great idea!!!!!! I'm planning on most of the Christmas gifts this ear to be handmade I'm quite low on cash on the moment and everyone mentions my handmade stuff, so I think that would be a good idea.

As someone else mentioned about kusudama, I'm planning on making a few of those in a few different variations

I wish everyone luck with their origami!!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for the link, Lexi.

My SO loves origami, so I know he'll get a kick out of this site. I love it as well, but I have trouble with spatial visualization sometimes for the two-dimensional pictures of where to fold. It can be SO frustrating! The animations are amazing, though. Yay!
