    Minecraft anyone?

My boyfriend got me hooked on this game after I had thought it was so stupid. But after watching people play it on youtube, and watching him play (we shared his screen) for a few weeks, I had to give it a try. Played it for free for a week, and then bought it for $21 as our 7 month anniversary gift to the both of us.

I do love playing games, so I caught onto the concept rather quick. But even for those who don't play PC games, the idea is simple, the controls are easy and the possibilities are endless.

He set us up a server, and custom made our skins to match our avatars from GaiaOnline. Using MSN to talk to one another while we played, we built things together and had so much fun! He would protect me from Creepers, fix my home when it backfired, and would leave me diamonds.

Favorite thing he has done was built me a surprise room behind a giant painting, filled with flowers and signs with things that he loves about me hanging up on the wall. And then covered the front of my house with flowers.

I wanted to know if anyone else has tried it?

I love Minecraft. I've been obsessed with it since September. And I'd really love to play it with my OH. It would be a wonderful way to spend more time together, and it's SO much fun! I've recently figured out how to run my own local server, so now I'm hoping I can figure out how to get him on it too.

That's great! Do you have any tips on how to run the server? my SO's internet has taken a hit and it leaves him and I lagged. It's kind of an inside joke at this point because he is always 5 minutes in the future.

He uses a program called Hamachi and that has worked really well for us being able to connect to the server.

Haha - that must be a bit weird!

I couldn't actually get Hamachi to work, which would have been the easy way to get OH playing on my server. I have to do the port forwarding myself I think, or something. I hope I can get it to work. (That is... if OH is even interested in playing!)

The most important things for a non-lagging server, is a good internet connection :/ , to have the server running on your best computer and play on a separate one, and to get that computer more RAM if it doesn't have loads already.
