I tried making these today. You don't really need floral tape and floral wire, a piece of a hangar and some regular ribbon with glue on one side worked just dandy for me.

There's easier versions hanging around the web, I liked the fact that these are made with coffee filters though (My better half couldn't go a day without coffee).
These are handy for sending in a package, they won't wilt- you could even write something sweet on each of the petals.
