booking a cheaper flight while getting a hotel room?

i dunno if anybody has tried this or thought about it, but would the plan ticket be cheaper if i booked a hotel room in Scotland? i want to do this especially if it means a cheaper plane ticket

Usually it's the other way around. If you book a hotel, the hotel becomes cheaper. I'd only do it if you want a hotel.
