    Apartment in Amsterdam?

    Long story short, but my boyfriend and I decided to move to Amsterdam since we're both European citizens, and he can't stay here in the US and I can't just move to Brazil.

    Anybody have any tips on finding an Apartment there? It doesn't seem very difficult save for either the company never gets back to us when we contact them re: an apartment, or it ends up being a scam. Anybody have any leads or tips for us to find a place?

    It might be good to go there to scout out apartments. I've never even been to Amsterdam and know nothing about it, but maybe you guys could stay in a hostel for a few weeks until you find a nice apartment?

      He's actually going there end of May and staying for 1 month, then is coming back here to stay 1 more month and then we will move together in July. He's just telling me about his "plan B" etc. for where else in the world to move when we've already been planning this for a while. I feel like it's wayyyy to close to the date to have a Plan B at this point, so I am just getting nervous . He just thinks he can't find an apartment.

        It's kind of difficult, I can tell you that... The companies who own a big amount of apartments work with waiting lists. People are on the waiting list for years until they find one, I'm in college and people are already applying for when they want to move to a regular apartment after college. Does any of you speak Dutch? Then these websites will help you for sure. All the other normally available housing should be on here. https://www.funda.nl/huur/amsterdam/...-huurprijs-op/ Don't know if they are above your budget or anything, but it's a good start to get an idea. All the real estate agents are also connected to this website, it's the biggest in the country.
