    Bringing food on the plane....

I want to bring some food with me for the plane trip Saturday to see B. It's going to be a long 12 hours.

I want to take beef jerky, cheese/pnut butter crackers, sunflower seeds, and mini candy bars. They are all individually wrapped. Is this acceptable through customs/TSA?

If the flight is 12 hours I'm sure they'll be serving food including free wine.

I wanted to post this the other day but my electricity went out for a few hours.

Anyways, if it's going to be 12 hours you should really bring something substantial. Like a bagel or sandwich or something. Even though airports are super overpriced, I usually am okay with spending about $20 on food before I get on the plane. Sometimes I'll get yogurt cups, or fruit cups, or salads, or whatever. But actual food is important.

Thank you all very much. The flight is not 12 hours, the total trip (4 changes) is 12 hours. I'm not paying such high prices for a meal -- Air Canada's simple sandwiches are $8.!! I will eat a substantial meal before leaving then another in Toronto at the airport for as cheap as I can get away with. The snacks are in case I don't have a chance for a good meal.
