I was recently surprised by my SO and I want to hear your stories too!
Here's my story:
I was depressed (a new thing for me) and on the phone with him. It took me an hour to get him on the phone because he kept saying "we can talk tomorrow". I was frustrated he wouldn't just talk to me and confused why it felt like he was putting distance between us lately. He told me he would talk to me in an hour, I agreed and we hung up. He was supposed to be in Cold Lake, AB for training for work and he wasn't supposed to be home for a few weeks. He didn't have internet there so we could only text and he was only texting me a few times a day. I laid in my bed for the hour, sad and feeling alone. And then I heard a knock on the door. I was confused if I had really heard it, but I heard it again and again so I got up and looked out the peep-hole. I saw nothing but darkness so I opened the door. And there he was, smiling holding a bouquet of roses. I fell to the ground and hysterically cried (which seems like a theme for big surprises). I was so confused why he was here. He was supposed to be training! But he explained that he was never in Cold Lake. Instead they sent him to my home city and he was doing his training here for the next four months. And then we were going to get to take our first plane trip together when we fly back to his place for the summer. We are closing the distance for a whole six months! He wasn't texting me a lot and giving lots of vague answers to my questions because he doesn't like to lie, so he had to cover things up with vague but true answers. He actually pulled off my first surprise without lying to me at all. I remember he sent me a texting saying "I'll see you in 15 minutes." I thought he meant on Skype but he showed up at my door 15 minutes later
