    The pre-visit crazies

    Anybody know what I mean?

You've waited for months and now you just have a couple of weeks to go - and they are the worst weeks of the whole time, missing each other like mad, restless, impatient, irritable, and they go so slowly...

My SO and I experienced this before Christmas, and it seems to be the same this time too. Suddenly being nearly together again makes being apart even more difficult for the last few days. I'm trying to keep myself occupied and be patient...

Do you guys get this too? How do you deal with the last-minute madness?

I haven't gotten that close to my next visit yet, have 58 days left out of the original 180 day wait, but I've been pretty crazy the whole time haha, I'll let you know the closer I get! :P

I more than understand what you mean, living through those last days is almost impossible! You just want to go to the airport/train station/wherever you're meeting them even if it's days until they get there, or at least I do xD I'm not really sure if I have a special way of getting though it, I just keep myself even more busy, or just give in to the longing completely and freaking out together with my SO, looking at pictures and videos of us together, and thinking about things we'll do once we meet again

Just hang in there, you've done it once, you can do it again! Hope you have a great time seeing each other!

I go through that! Because it's so close, but it's still super far away! I get all nuts all over this forum and making packing lists and stuff. And now we've added a trip to Disneyland to his next visit, so I'm even MORE excited!

Oooh, packing lists! I didn't even think of that as something I could do - feeling useful and helpful and productive (and at the same time none of these things!) whilst passing the time. Good tip!

I've done a lot of laundry, and a lot of clearing out of my stuff. I pretend that I'm throwing out junk in preparation for closing the distance.

I got through the same thing. I guess its the anticipation and the fact that you just want time to hurry up so that you can see your SO. You just have to hang in there. I try to keep myself busy so that my mind is more occupied with whatever I'm doing and not thinking about the wait so much.

Most definitely!! We get so antsy and impatient that it drives us both crazy. We feed of each other's vibes too so it just makes things worse. We bicker and stress...it's good times! *sarcasm* lol We're getting closer to our visit now so I'm not looking forward to it. hehe But we just remind each other how close it is and that we'll be together soon!

I totally understand. I get super antsy and I generally am in a bad mood. I do everything I can to keep busy and prepare in any way I can for the visit. Generally I am fighting with him because he is "go with the flow" and I am a planner so when I don't know when his train or plane is getting in, I start to freak out and I get aggravated with him because he KNOWS that pisses me off.

For me it kind of builds up after half of the time... I've got 18 days to go, and I'm climbing the walls and eating pillows :P

OMG for me, the worse was waiting to get off the plane...always seemed like people were taking their time to grab their bags and stuff. I just wanted off. lol I don't have to worry about that anymore.

I'm the same, I have the packing thing down but about a week before I fly out I hardly get any sleep LOL I just wish I could fast forward the waiting time and then slow down the trip so that it doesn't go so quick

Exactly .. Sometimes I feel bad wishing the time away to be closer to our visit because 1 .. I'm wishing someone else's time with their SO away and 2 .. It seems like I spend all these long days anticipating what I know will fly by before I can even realize it.

But yes, I think that is the case for everyone here.

Pretty sure its because we all know what's just around the corner, thus making it seem even longer. It can be a month away and to me it seems close, but the minute it gets around 10-5 days left I feel like it starts taking forever to get to that special date we have set.

I get to see my SO a lot more than most, once every two or three weeks, but I definitely still get them. It's usually like the week before I get to see him, and I start going absolutely nuts trying to prepare things. I'm not really sure that there is much you can do to handle it; just try to occupy yourself. If you're too busy to think about it, you're a lot less likely to go crazy!
