Hello again! I am getting more and more nervous! I really shouldn't be considering the fact we already have met before lol. It has been 16 years since we have seen each other in person and this Thursday we will meet again Things are going very well over the phone with us, but I just keep getting more nervous the closer it gets to the big day. Everyone keeps telling me to chill out ( including him) but I can't help the whole case of the nerves thing. I will be sure to post once my visit is over to let you all know how it goes. We have a few days of fun planned, including a secret day he has lined out for us. Wish me luck!

I certainly do wish you luck. I recently had a visit with my SO this month after two years of not seeing each other, so I get the nerves thing. As time got closer to our visit, I got more and more nervous, too. Keep telling yourself that it will pass after a few minutes with him. I was nervous until I felt his arms wrap around me, then everything felt right. This visit, I chose to drive more, and I was afraid that I'd be too nervous driving him anywhere. However, I wasn't nervous at all. We were really comfortable with each other.
I'm sure you both will relax right off. It's normal to be nervous, and you can't really do anything about that. I was walking all over the airport while waiting for my SO's plane to land; no way I could sit for long!
Find something positive to do to help. If you are religious, pray. If not, meditate on the visit and concentrate on peaceful and positive thoughts. For me, I prayed every time I got too nervous. I'd pray about specific parts of the visit. It helped me. Also, make a list. Any kind of a list. A list of places to see together, foods to try, movies to watch, etc. It doesn't matter if you intend to do them this visit or not, but it helps to get your mind on something else. It eases the nerves.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thank you for the advice. I keep trying to find things to distract me so I won't be so nervous. He is going to be at work when my plane lands, so I am going to meet up with some family before I actually see him that evening. Maybe having the time to unwind from traveling all day will help me to be a little at ease.

Good Luck! I'm sure you're going to have the most amazing time together, gosh 16 years is a long time to have not seen one another. I feel like being nervous that way before the visit is really natural, I know I definitely was, I could barely sit still leading up to visiting my girlfriend, and there's lots that could be adding to feeling nervous as well as the thought of meeting up, like just the thought of all the traveling. I'm sure the nerves will ease up once you're there and it's finally happening, the build up is always more nerve wracking you know?Met Online: January 2014
