So I was recently trying to plan a surprise trip to see my SO for our anniversary. It's next week, but I have this week off and it's a long weekend here this weekend. I tried contacting his family to help me organise it, but his parents I don't think check their phones or only know how to answer a call. I tried his brothers gf on Facebook and got nothing. The rest of his family don't have fb. My SO has been rather stressed lately and I've had my fair share of things happening and we miss each other when we try to call. Today I decided to be spontaneous, so I've packed my bag, booked tickets and I'm flying out this afternoon. I know he'll be surprised to see me, and I think a visit right now is something we both need to lift our spirits. I've sussed it out so I know he's got the long weekend off so it'll be good to spend some time together. It did set my bank account back, waiting to the last minute but to me it's worth it. Seeing we won't get the time off to spend our anniversary together, this will be close enough for us. I'm really excited, I can't remember the last time I was this excited, other than Christmas when I was little. So anyway just thought I'd share.

Well I tried the getting in touch with his family and thought, ' If you want something done right, best to to it yourself'. I'm quite proud of myself, I usually wouldn't do something like this without thorough planning. Sometimes you've got to let loose and throw caution to the wind. Hopefully it won't backfire and I'm left at the airport and he's at home.Last edited by Redheart14; October 1, 2014, 06:52 PM.

Sorry I didn't see this thread when I PM'd you the other day. I'm so glad to hear that your trip went well, it's so exciting that you made it a surprise. I would love to give my SO a surprise visit, but it's so difficult with international. Did you guys do anything special, or just spend time together (which is obviously also special).

Will do!
I text him when I landed and said where are you? He said about to go home. Where are you? I said at the airport, come get me. He replied- I wish babe, talk when I get home. I freaked then called him. Haha he was like you're seriously here? Ok I'll be right there! It was good to see him I feel so much better having seen him.
