3 days. Any last tips for me?

Hey there,

can't believe it. Time flies so fast. Even the last weeks...
Now I am sitting here about to pack my stuff and I am wondering if you guys have any tips for me?
Like how much cash should I take with me? I have a visa card which I am gonna be using over there. I was thinking about 50 €.
And I'll have to stopovers. First in London Heathrow and second in New York JFK.
I am so nervous cause this is the first time that I am flying such a long distance all alone...

O, and btw I met his mom and his brother on skype XD

Take some deep breaths and relax. You are going to have an amazing time. It's great you have met his mom and brother on skype so you have two more people who you will recognize when you see them in person (since I'm guessing you will see them a bit as well).

Take a good book or two for the plane... and a journal to write in on the plane!! Some headphones maybe for the movies on the plane.

HAVE SO MUCH FUN and take lots of pictures!! But focus most importantly on being together and experiencing life together in person!

It might be wise to withdraw dollars as well. And get a Master card just in case. You will be fine! You can always ask people in the airport to help you. I go direction blind every time I go through Istanbul airport, so I have to ask airport staff to help me. That is ok, it is what they are there for Travel in layered clothes so you can adjust the temperature. Bring extra tops and underwear in case you get too hot, but also comfy thick socks and a warm scarf may come in handy. You might want to fresh up, so travel size toiletries may be of use. Pocket books are good for travel. Drink more water than usual to make up for the dry air on the planes (and go to the toilet at every uppertunity). Keep checking the gate number as they might change it without announcing it out loud. Unless I have been to the airport before (but often if I know the airport too), I go straight to my gate, then find a place to eat and drink or bring food to my gate. Hopefully you have plenty of time, but it doesn't hurt to be on the safe side.

I would wear shoes that are easy to get in and out of, because you're gonna have to take off your shoes when you go through security in the US (I don't remember if you had to in order to get into the country, but you'll definitely need to in order to leave it).
Like everyone else has suggested, I would consider bringing a journal or a book, or something in general to keep you occupied. I'm not sure how you feel about sleeping aids, or how well you sleep on planes, but it might be worth getting something in the event you want to sleep. If you have one of those neck pillows, I would bring it. I know airports sell them, but airport prices are ridiculous. You shouldn't need to put it in your carry on, either. I was able to get to/from London with it kinda hanging around my neck.
