    Saying goodbye, coping

Looking over these posts I count my blessings that My Lady and I get regular visits (at least once every two weeks). Our biggest problem outside of not being in each others space daily is saying goodbye at the end of our visits. Often times it may be hours before we have to say goodbye when the "blues" sets in. More than once I have driven home listening to her cry her eyes out on the other end of my phone. It is heartbreaking/wrenching. We have tried many things, however the following works best for us; thought some of you might give it a try. We are friends first, always and forever, so...

We say our goodbye, give out hugs, kisses, last holding caresses and staring into those eyes we get lost in. I turn without looking back and get in my car and drive away. Then sometime in the next ten minutes my phone rings. It's my best friend asking me what I'm doing. "Just leaving the most amazing woman in the world, I am so in love with her. We had a marvelous day!", is usually similar to my reply. As I drive she asks me of my day and I go into great detail explaining it to her, my favorite parts, the moments I fell deeper in love with her, etc. We relive our date; if there is time I do the same with her and she fills in parts I missed. Next trip she goes first. It seals those memories and gives us some much needed coping and wind down time. Might seem corny but you might want to try it. Best wishes to each and every one.
