Meeting in the "middle" Any advice would be great thanks:)

Hi,
My SO and myself are trying to find a way to meet in the middleish. I live in Western Australia and he is in Palo Alto US. right now we are looking at Fiji, as it ticks all his fave holiday place type boxes and i think it looks perfect
It is definitely much closer to me .

Im looking for advice on how others have done it. I keep looking at holiday packages that are per person and am not sure how it would work both flying in from different countries, if its even possible etc.
Basically ANY hints and tips would be amazing and any advice more than welcome.
Right now we are just looking at the amazing places we cant afford and in the next couple of days we are going to spend some time talking about each others budgets etc and what we can realistically do.

Thanks in advance I have spent a lot of time reading different threads and am loving the support network and advice on this forum.

Meeting in the middle seemd like a nice idea
It will be way more expensive though!
Cause you both have to buy a ticket and you're gonna have to pay for accomodation.
You might spend as much money on this one visit, while you could maybe see each other twice if you actually go to each other..?

Anyway, if you're both OK with that....
I would just book separate tickets and look into some kind of all in or maybe a youth hostel if you're adventurous
I think a package woul be difficult as you say, cause you're flying from different countries.
Although.... You could maybe book something like that and then split the costs for the accomodation.
Cause it's usualy cheaper that way.

If you contact a travel agency in your price range, they can probably answer your questions about packages. If you care only about the nature and meeting each other, you can both look for the cheapest possible plane tickets and some low cost accomodation.

I just did this with my SO.
it wasn't exactly halfway but it was close (we met in Vegas but I'm definitely closer)
Like you said, you're flying in from different places so most packages won't work.
For my SO and I, we booked our flights separately from our hotel. I scavenged the internet for dayss and waited until the room went for a ridiculously good price..
