    first meeting saving tips?

Hey all! I was wondering if anyone could give me advice for saving up money to go see my boyfriend sometime in the near future. I currently work part time while finishing off Hugh school. I make like 9.15 an hour and work roughly 15 hours a week So my pay checks are some what decent.. the only problem is is I'm Currently the only one in my house working. It's hard to save because my mother is constantly getting over drawn fees and I have to put money in (the most has been 150) to stop them from coming at least twice a month. I don't know how to save up my money right now and I was wondering if anyone could help me come up with ideas? My boyfriend lives in the same state so I mean if I could get my license and a car that'd help but, again, I don't particularly know how to save in your situation.

Tell your mom to get a damn job and start paying her own overdraft, making your daughter pay for your lacking of money skills is ridiculous.

It is not fair for you to pay the house bills, you are only 16 and working part time, that money should be yours alone.

If your mum is poor and sick/unemployed and you really do have to help out, still make sure to set aside some of the money for yourself and use them on tickets and driving lessons.
I made love to him only twice, she thought and looked at the man laying asleep beside her. And yet still it is as if we have been together forever, as if he has always known my life, my soul, my body, my light, my pain

That doesn't sound like a very nice situation so for that I'm sorry.

I am contracted to work 16 hours a week and earn about £6.80 an hour, so i take home about £460 every 4 weeks. I have all my little bills for phone, computer and such and then £125 goes to my mum for rent (food, electric, cat food).

I try and put aside £100 out of every pay check.

I think you need to sit down and look at your finances. Maybe you could make a jar dedicated to trip money, every day/week whatever put in any spare change you've got laying around, it might not sound like much but it builds up. See what money you definitely know is going to need to spent on other things and see what you'll have left over, you could then save all or just some of that. Obviously I don't know the whole situation so I'm not going to judge on why you are the only working, I will however congratulate you for working 15 hours a week and still going to high school. That sounds like a lot of work.

        I wish you the best

I agree that it is not your responsibility to pay your mothers overdraft fees. She needs to contact the bank and set it up that if she doesn't have the money that the transactions are to be declined instead of paid with a fee.

I would also suggest you setting up an individual savings account at a different bank from your mothers. Have your employer direct deposit a set amount into it each pay check. I have $50 set aside every pay period and it comes out to $1,300 at the end of each year. I also throw any extra I have or bonus funds into it as well. I find this to be the easiest method so save money.
