I've been shopping around a lot and managed to find some cheaper (but still good) policies. It's definitely worth having in my opinion but at the end of the day it is OPs life and her responsibility. I know for me it's not a risk I am willing to take especially for my daughter. If anything I'd at least get her cover. If it wasn't for the fact I am going to see my boyfriend I wouldn't bother getting cover for myself but I don't want something to then go wrong and him being stressed over me. I'd rather have it.

They are going to ask you how you are going to be supporting yourself whilst in the US. If you have very little money, their ears prick up. A lot of people try to get into the US to work illegally, so they work hard to stop that. I would definitely bring some kind of proof that you are in school, as that proves that you still have ties to home.Originally posted by Fie KC View PostOkay but.. I just don't think anything will happen so I would need the insurance .. It'll be waste of money.. I've already used so much on the flight and all, and I don't have a lot of money, I'm only in school
Whatever you do, do not lie or bend the truth in any of your answers. I was one of the very unlucky people to be hounded for information because of my circumstances. I was travelling with my American boyfriend, I had no job as I had just finished my internship and even though I was a legit traveller, alarm bells were ringing for them. I believe I got through because I spent the time giving honest answers. I don't want to scare you, but you do need to be prepared, because they take immigration VERY seriously.
