We were shy. We just smiled and waved and started walking to leave the airport. We didn't become super close until we got to the apartment, away from the public. She hugged me and cried and from there we just couldn't keep apart until the day we went back to our homes. I imagine the next airport meeting to be much better since we got over our shyness.
As for the day we flew our separate ways. We didn't do much. We just stayed side by side as long as we could. And enjoyed the last few minutes we could have together. I watched her walk away for a while before I had to get in line to board my flight. Neither of us cried. But I could feel somewhat upset to see her go. It really took some getting used to walking alone again.
