We have been waiting patiently and impatiently to hear back from graduate schools.

He wants to get a Ph.D. in Computer Science (specifically, artificial intelligence and machine learning-- he comes from an engineering background). I tried to keep his expectations realistic. He has maybe a 5-10% chance to get into a school. There is a lot riding on this.

He's been rejected twice already (CMU, WPI), and we received the third today from University of Michigan. I'm really worried about him because I know that it is eating away at his self-esteem.

I'm hoping and praying that he gets accepted to TAMU-- not because I want to move to Texas, but because it is the one school that he actually stands a chance at. One of the professors he asked to write a recommendation for him received her Ph.D. there, and the school has recently partnered with his undergraduate institution for research endeavors. Of anyone, they are the ones who would know and understand the circumstances of his application and why he deserves a chance.
