So I'm in Peru!

The whole trip has been a little surreal. I was a lot calmer on the way compared to last time. They also gave us the immigration forms on the plane before we got there, which for some reason TACA didn't do when I took them last time. Immigration was a BITCH, though-- they had like 2 kiosks open for 3+ plane loads of people! We waited in that line for over an hour! They only opened up more counters after we'd been there for nearly 45 minutes. Fortunately I got the lady who was really efficient. All she asked me was how long I was staying and then she stamped my passport and tarjeta andina and that was it, I was out and onward to get my bag. Customs took like five minutes-- since we had waited SO LONG in line, all our baggage was already out and had been taken off the carousel, and there was an attendant to take our luggage tickets. That was nice. Of course, as soon as I got up to the line for customs, the lady tells me, "Oh, that's an old form, you need the new one" and I had to fill it out all over again. Thanks a lot, airline! >

There were so many people out in the waiting area, I almost didn't find my SO and his mom, but they saw me and both walked up to me and hugged me, and it was nice. Things were still a little weird between my SO and I so we just hugged and stuff. The awkwardness kind of wore off after a couple hours, a lot like last time, although I think we still need to spend more time together to kind of get back to where we were before we started having issues. He couldn't keep his hands off me when we were alone, though... that was nice.

Today he had to leave early to go to work and stuff, so I'm home with my laptop and his little TV with all Spanish channels (except for one that has kids' shows in English). His mom and I went to the market together today and got lots of fruits and veggies and meat. We also got some paints so I can paint some MTG cards. I have to have 2 done before Sunday because I'm selling them to a friend of his.

It's kind of weird to be with just his mom because I feel kind of like I'm just loafing around the house while his mom is like cooking or something... the kitchen is so tiny, though, and I really lack the vocabulary to talk to her in any sense (I barely managed to ask where she wanted me to put the fruits we bought). Also, I really don't like the couchbedthing they have me sleep on because it has like a really hard part right in the middle where it folds, so you have to stay on one side or the other and you always feel like you're going to roll off, but I can't really be picky. Maybe I'll just try to put more blankets on.
