Here's the rest-- not a lot more, but enough that I didn't want to sacrifice anything else I'd written just to squeeze it in.

THURSDAY

We just stayed home on Thursday. We were TIRED! My legs were aching! It was a rainy day and we just stayed in our pajamas and watched movies and videos all day.

At one point I finished the ice cream we'd gotten earlier in week, so I was a little sad that we were out since there hadn't been a lot left. Brendan asked what was wrong and I told him, and he immediately offered to go get more. I thought he was joking, but he wasn't, at all. I gave him the keys and 15 minutes later he was back with more. Absolutely spoils me sometimes.

FRIDAY

Our first stop of the day was not a historical site, but rather a Moore's, which is like the Canadian equivalent of Men's Wearhouse in the states. Brendan needed a suit for the wedding in September, and we decided to go together so that I could help him pick it out. I brought my dress with me and we met with a very, very friendly representative, who patiently showed us all the options while Brendan decided what he wanted. We ended up choosing a custom grey suit that he'll (hopefully) be able to wear for many occasions to come. He also got a fitted shirt to go with it, and we matched the shirt to my dress, so we'll both be burgundy. I'm REALLY excited to see him in his suit, because he looked STUNNING in the ones that he was trying on, and I do love a well-dressed man...

Anyway, afterwards we were planning to go to the Canadian War Museum, but it was around lunch time and we thought it might be good to eat first. I suggested we go to the Mill St Pub, which Brendan had been eyeing all week and was just across the road from the museum. I just love to see him happy! They ended up not having any tables, but there were plenty of seats at the bar, and seeing as it was just the two of us, we gladly accepted. They had some really interesting options for lunch, and we got a Montreal smoked meat poutine to share as an appetizer. Since it was a pub and we wouldn't be driving any time soon, I tried a mixed beer drink that was supposed to be good for "non-beer drinkers," but it still tasted very bitter and beer-y to me, so Brendan ended up finishing mine. He enjoyed it, at least.

After lunch we rolledwalked back across the street to the museum, where we (really I) spent the next 3 hours learning about Canada's history of war, from the natives to present day. A lot of the early history was really interesting, because it covered the bits I missed when we were in the Museum of History, but a lot of the "modern day" stuff overlapped a lot with the US, so I didn't learn much there. Again, we ended up rushing a bit towards the end, but this time I think we actually saw everything.

Also, we discovered the origin of Pepsi's terrible Kylie Jenner ad. :P

In the evening I think we just made dinner again and ended up chatting with his landlord some more. I had to pack up some of my things so I'd be ready to go in the morning, since I had a long, long drive home ahead of me. We cuddled and just spent some quality time together.

SATURDAY

I could have stayed until Sunday, but I wanted to make sure that I had enough time to get home should anything unexpected happen. Brendan took me to A&W for breakfast first, and I planned my route while we ate. Then we went back, loaded my stuff into the car, and I departed.

It was all back roads until I was much closer to the border, but I ended up crossing at the same place I had on the way up. I forgot I was wearing my sunglasses when I pulled up to the border officer, so when I handed him my passport, he said, "lose the shades." I said sorry quickly and removed them. Then he asked where I was headed, where I'd been, and why I was there. I said I was visiting a friend, and he quickly asked, "boyfriend?" and I sheepishly said yes. He said, "why don't you just say boyfriend?" and all I could do in the moment was shrug and say, "it's hard!" After that he just asked me about work, pretty much the same as the Canadian side had asked me. We chatted for a bit about what I do at work and then he handed my passport back and said I was all set.

I wanted to stop at so many places on the way home, but not as much as I wanted to just get home. Surprisingly (at least, to myself), the drive didn't really tire me out very much. I stopped about 4 hours in at a rest stop that I'm like 85% sure my family stopped at once a long time ago. I got myself a milkshake and took some time to enjoy the nice day outside while I stretched my legs and messaged Brendan and everyone else who wanted to know where I was at. I didn't feel like resting for too long, though, and I ended up back in the car and on the road within 25 minutes.

The rest of the drive home was actually pretty nice. When I left, everything was still budding and just starting to grow leaves, but I came back to green everywhere. I ended up on a very scenic road and enjoyed it quite a bit while listening to my podcasts. I was kind of sad to get close to home, because all the traffic picked up and the roads and scenery weren't as nice. Still, it's always nice to get home after along trip and to lie down in your own bed.

~~~~~~
So far we've planned it that I'll be driving up again (a shorter drive since I don't have to go all the way to his school) for the first week of July, but I'm not 100% confirmed on that yet. I have a lot going on in the next month, including having my wisdom teeth removed (yikes!) and the medical for my PR application. At this moment, I have most of my documents gathered, but I'm still waiting on a couple things, like a letter from my bank. I'm nervous about the medical, but I'm hoping that nothing is too much of an issue and they won't make me follow up on anything. Fingers crossed.
