This distance thing sucks!

Today was Newton's birthday, which was fine and dandy. We had agreed we were going to Skype so I could help him celebrate, tonight. Long story short, I've been waiting for almost 2 hours to Skype with him. I guess he's been at his friend's house hanging out. His compromise was to leave in a half hour, drive home, then we could Skype. I don't have much choice but to agree if I want to see him today. I'm just bummed. I was super excited to help him celebrate and it doesn't even feel like he cares. At least if we weren't LD I could have spent the day with him. Grr!

I'm sort of in the same boat. Me and my SO haven't done FaceTime for several days (due to Internet issues) I'm hoping his wifi gets fixed soon. I've really missed seeing his face. We've been talking on the phone/texting a lot, but it's not the same. We have another month before our next visit. So yes, I agree. Right now, the distance is my enemy. And I hate it with a passion.

My guess is he would have loved to skype with you more as well but then he didn't want to disappoint his friend or seem like he only cared about you and not his friend.. so he was trying his best to compromise, and it looks like he did. But I'm with you that distance sucks.. especially since you and the friend would have both been able to be in the same place with him celebrating much easier. I'm sure he cares but with anything we have to make compromises sometimes. I hope you had a great time celebrating with him anyways. Also, if you feel you missed out, try and celebrate with him the next time.. a birthday is just a day.. don't worry too much about it.
