After putting it off over and over again because of lots of rain, we finally made it up to Tiquicia, where we want to have our party!
It looks like it'll be really affordable and we both really like the place. Even my SO who was not so sure about having this party to begin with, is excited about the party now. The food is not great, it's typical Costa Rican food, but the place is really nice. And of course the view is spectacular. Even today, a cloudy, rainy day, the view was great.
The lady we spoke with was really nice and was sort of shocked we wanted to plan something "so far in advance"- end of January. The band they offer actually plays all sorts of music- trova, charanga, rock (Spanish and English), salsa, everything and they're really cheap. It sounded like $300 for 2.5 hours. So we'll probably hire them and let them know ahead of time a few songs we might want and let them decide the rest.
Here's some pictures I took!

They don't offer any decorations, but we can bring in whatever we want. I'm thinking of getting table cloths, because I'm really not fond of the ones they have. We'll see. And I guess because it looks "rustic" I can look up some cheap DIY table decorations. Just thinking some candles and maybe some flowers would be nice. Who knows, we've got plenty of time
I'm really excited about the party, it'll be fun!
@mlle- I'm going to wear my wedding dress again. I mean, why not? My SO might buy a new suit, mostly because he wants another one. I bought these shoes in that purple color. Although I'll definitely bring some flats for dancing!
@lyons- Actually, I was thinking I wanted a hairpin instead of using my veil again! Your posts about all those hairpins made me think that was a really good idea So hopefully I can find something nice down here to use.
@Schlaf- that's a good idea! I'll definitely think about it. The table cloths I think are really kitschy and ugly. I wonder if they'd be cool with me just taking them off. I'll have to ask.
