Not to steal Lyons' thunder, but ... (forgive me lyons?!!)
We put the down payment on our photographer for our party! Yay! It's basically the only thing we have to do. We changed the date to have it in February since the last two weekends in January is this huge, annual, country-wide party and no one would want to miss it. We plan on going back up to the restaurant on a day the band is playing to see if we like them. If we do, we'll book them for us as well.
I talked to my mom and she's going to give me a bunch of tablecloths she used for her wedding party. The good news- they're purple! Which matches our "theme" I guess. I guess we're doing purple again since I bought purple shoes, again. This time they actually fit me and I'll actually wear them since it won't be icy outside. I also plan on doing these as centerpieces. Maybe group like three together so they're not as tippy. Flowers here are cheap and the day of I can go to the feria and buy a whole ton. Plus if there's one thing we never have a shortage of it's beer bottles! Thinking of maybe painting them? Who knows.
I plan on getting a small bouquet, because like I said it'll be cheap. We'll buy a store-bought cake and put our same cake toppers on. I just need to repair them since over the year they have fallen apart.
Question- should I wear a veil again? Or just get a hair clip? I wore a birdcage veil the first time and it's all beat up so I'd probably buy another one (birdcage style again) if I decide to wear one. But I kind of feel like wearing a veil would be.. fake? I don't know. I'm already married. But we're having a party and I'm wearing a white dress, I just feel like the veil would put it over the top? My other idea was to get a hair clip (thanks for the idea, lyons!) But since my hair is short I don't know how well a comb would work. Meh, hairdressers can figure it out. I just need to figure it out so I can buy what I want online and bring it back with me when I go to the USA in December.
I'm also going to buy a whole bunch of sparklers! I want to take sparkler pictures like this and this and this. Okay you get the point! We plan to have the photographer from 5-10pm (maybe an extra hour just in case). Get some pictures as the sun goes down (sun sets at 5:30) and then par-tay. I still have to see if my SO is cool with buying silly party stuff to pass out for the people to wear. I know he thinks it's stupid but I think it makes for funny pictures!! And after all, this whole thing is basically an excuse for me to get nice pictures.
Also I was thinking about when in the USA going to a wedding dress store. I think it'd be fun to try on the big puffy dresses. But I wouldn't buy any. So I'd feel bad about wasting the sales person's time since they could be getting commission with someone else. But I don't know. Thoughts?
Alright I promise this is the last time I plan a wedding! No more parties.
Well have a nice day!
I'm not sure I'm feeling the centerpieces, tbh. It could work out awesome, but it has just as much chance of looking a bit tacky which you don't want in your fabulous professional photos.
