I should really hold off on this blog til next week or the week after. My SO will be leaving Tuesday to go to Mexico for work for a week. Then the day after he gets back he'll be in Costa Rica for a week to visit family. My parents will be in Germany for those two weeks as well. So poor wittle me will be all awone for two full weeks! So I'll definitely be around more...

Anyways- big news first. Bought a new car! Vroom vroom. The car I was driving was a POS and I decided I'd run it into the ground before I got another one. Well last weekend that day came when I took it in for a tire patch and oil change and it came out needing $2000+ of engine repairs and four new tires. Yikes! So this week I've been getting rides to work and looking around for a car. Finally settled on a 2008 Toyota Matrix. It's a 5-speed which was a must, and it's cute and speedy. Hell, I guess everything is speedy compared to the POS I was driving... We spent over what we originally discussed, but we got a really good deal and I don't think this car will give me much issues.

Today I went to a transfer fair (speed dating for teachers) to see if I can switch schools in district. I'd really love to go to a school where kids are prepped for medical sciences. I mean it's like a science teacher's dream! They seemed to like me though they have no openings as of yet. I also applied to an "Early college" school where kids work towards college credits. This lady was especially impressed that I speak Spanish and even gave me a little test. She gave me the Spanish brochure for the school and told me to translate while she followed the English version. Passed with flying colors of course The last school (we were only allowed three) wasn't much of an interview. The principal talked at me for 15 minutes, didn't ask me even one damn question. And it was awkward because there was another girl there at the same time. So at the end I passed over my resume and gave my highlights "I'm certified in all sciences 6-12, taught abroad for three years and am fluent in Spanish" He seemed slightly interested after that, but he had no personality to begin with so who knows. I gotta say my resume looked really good too. Not talking about content, but the way it looked. Everyone was turning in very standard resumes and mine looks so different it definitely stood out. Which is pretty important when a principal is getting handed 30 resumes in three hours. So I'm not sure about anything, but I am hopeful.

My SO is still loving his job. I know I've been saying how much I want us to move to Europe in the next few years, but the reality is probably going to be Brazil. I'm cool with that, we'd still have to learn a new language. His company has a pretty big presence in Brazil and Mexico. I don't think either of us would want to move to Mexico, but Brazil could be an option. One of my SO's best work friends is Mexican and my SO asked him if they've asked him to relocate. They have- they asked him to go to Brazil. He declined because he has two kids and a wife who doesn't really want to up-root her life. I'd be all about it! So I've been looking into Brazil and such because I always need a damn project or I go crazy.

Living with the 'rents has been touch and go. They've been bothering the shit out of me recently but I'm trying my best to let stuff go. Since we are paying rent now we're not saving tons of money, but we still are saving money by living here. And with that car payment coming in now it's definitely a good thing to be saving on rent. Whenever I get upset I go and complain with my SO who calms me down and is basically like "Don't let that shit bother you". Easier said than done, right?

So I think those are big things for now. I'm certain I'll be back next week or the week after to give a pointless update of how bored I am.

Have a great weekend!
