I warned you that a lot of my blogs would become wedding related. Last night Nix & I had the budget discussion. Okay, really, it was "based on my research, and current trends, and the kind of wedding we've been talking about, I'm guessing we'll need to spend about $XX on our wedding." and he said, "Goodness..." and then I told him the average cost of a wedding. His response? "yikes." We're planning on staying under the "average" by a fair amount, but I over-estimated everything and rounded up on a number of things. (Like if I guessed something would be say, $125, I rounded up to $200) I know it seems like I'm crazy, but I'd much rather stay under budget than go over...

I talked to my parents last night about it, told them how much we think we'll need to spend, and Dad gave the OK, and said they would be more than happy to help. He asked how much we're planning on putting into this, and when I said I'm not sure, he said, "Plan on less than half." Aw, Dad.... Nix talked to his parents as well, and they're probably going to help out with the "traditional" groom's family stuff, like the rehearsal dinner. I know, though, that tradition states they would pay for the bar, and they don't really drink, so, that would be weird. So Nix & I will probably end up paying for that ourselves. I may suggest to Nix they, if they want to help out with something besides the rehearsal dinner, pay for the reception music. We're probably going to go the DJ route - and music is important to their whole family. Hmm... I'll have to bring that up to him later. (or.... I'll just send him a text now while I'm thinking about it. )

Anyway, I'm crazy... I know. I bought the beginnings of my bouquet last night, in case you missed it! Here are a couple of the pins I bought: This one has a little blue in it.
Pretty
French horn!
I have to be careful about buying these things... I'm DIYing my own bouquets and stuff to saaave money, not spend a lot more!! I've recruited my mom and sister to help look as well, and I'm going to ask my FMIL to look if she's ever at thrift stores/flea markets/antique shops. This way my family can help out too, and bonus, the brooches will come from 4 different states!

Poor Nix... I feel like all I ever talk about to him is the wedding. I have got to work on that. There is life beyond wedding planning!! And one day, the wedding planning will be over, and we'll be stuck together. I don't want the only topic of conversation for the past year to have been the wedding!!

Aaaaaanyway. Sorry in advance for the wedding blog mania! lol.
