At least, not until the wedding day. It won't be over until we're in our hotel room, enjoying being husband and wife.

I sent my mom a link to the place we're looking at as a possible reception site because she asked me to, so she could see it.

Aaaand she just texted me again, saying that she's at her friend's for dinner. Who, in turn, just told my mom that she needs to let me have whatever I want. I love this woman.

Basically, what was happening was that we're looking at this place but we need to talk to them about their menu, because we have something specific (and a little unusual) in mind. My mom was trying to talk me out of it, because it might be good for us but wouldn't be good for other people. Yea, okay, but everyone likes breakfast. (Yes. Breakfast for dinner.) I dunno, I love my mom. And I want it to be an excellent party, I really do. I know that to be an "excellent party" I have to think of my guests. I'm trying, but a formal sit-down dinner is not what I/we want. I don't want a head table, Nix agrees. We want to mingle with our guests because a number of them we haven't seen for a while. We want to dance all night, and eat food we'd actually want to eat, not some ritzy high-end meal that we don't really like.

I know that's great for some people, but it's not us. Our first date was making paninis on his new panini grill at his place, and watching Avatar. We enjoyed each other's company until about 2am, and then he asked if I would to see him again. I said of course, and he said, "how about tomorrow?" where we proceeded to grab coffee, and go downtown and walked around the Children's Museum. It was so much fun - and he totally got to me, lol. (I'm definitely a kid at heart, and I had never been!)

Brinner is our favorite meal. So yea, it may be unconventional... but why not have it as our wedding food? It'd certainly be something to remember. I started writing this and it was going to be a completely different post. Luckily my mom's friend intervened, and hopefully has her convinced that it will be just fine.
