I'm still a little annoyed at the university, but I'm getting over it rather quickly. The retail therapy definitely helped, ha!

ANYWAY. I posted briefly about this on the vet's "WOYM" thread, but, I feel the need to blog. I'm going to try and do this chronologically so I can make sense of everything that's going on.

July:
As the month is almost over, nothing as far as traveling is happening.

August:
I'm planning on driving up to MD at the beginning of August to go apartment hunting, and hopefully be able to sign a lease while I'm there. The 3rd weekend in August I will be going to MN to see my family and grandfather - AND Nix gets to come!!!! YAY. That's all we've got planned for August, I will begin to get ready for my move at the beginning of September after I get back from Minnesota.

September:
At the beginning of September I will be moving to MD. (I don't know what date yet, but I'm going to try and sign a lease that starts on Sept 5th, I think.) Some time soon after my move to MD I will be driving the 2 hours to IKEA and buying our new bed. And then going to a mattress place to buy that as well. Maybe if I can swing it, I'll make that trip on the 6th, and then hopefully IKEA will deliver that far away... because there's no way I would be able to get the bed frame home otherwise. I guess I should call the closest store to find out what their delivery ranges & prices are...

I'm going to talk to my next boss about taking Sept 20th off, and hopefully she'll say yes. (I have a vacation day planned for this date, but I can't submit it until I've moved otherwise it will go to my current boss and he won't approve it... it's just a mess.) Anyway, so I'll find a flight to IN from MD on the evening of the 19th, and then I'll hopefully be able to do my hair trial on the 20th. And then we'll go apply for our marriage license! (EEP!) On the 21st we'll leave early-ish in the morning and drive 4 hours to Illinois and go to his groomsman's wedding. We'll spend the night there, then leave early-ish on Sunday, and I'll fly back to MD that evening.

October:
I was able to talk to Nix briefly via text, and asked him if he had considered his plan to move. He's considering the week before the wedding, so then he can help pack up and drive back to Indiana. So that would be around the 19th or so of Oct - we're not sure on the final dates yet. Him being there would make my life so much easier. (He's so thoughtful!!!) We talked about possibly renting a bigger car for the drive to IN, so we don't have to worry about cramming everything into my little car. We'd return it to the airport the day we leave for our honeymoon, and then when we got back we'd rent another car and drive that back to Maryland (he's a smart one, he said "Good idea." when I suggested it. ). Then we could stuff all of the wedding things and gifts into that car, and drive back. I'd (unfortunately) have to go back to work the Tuesday we (WE!!) return to MD, but Nix said he would be willing to drive so I could nap some of the way. This means we could be closing the distance as early as 3 months from tomorrow!

November/December:
As for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, I think we will be celebrating those in Maryland. Hopefully we will have made some new friends (I've already found a possible church for us to attend, I'm going to check it out during my apartment hunting visit) and maybe we can celebrate Thanksgiving with a few of them. That would be fun. Or, we could have a quiet Thanksgiving at home... our first "real" holiday as husband and wife... Halloween doesn't really count as a holiday, IMO. Holiday = a day off of work.

I love seeing all of this planned out. Or at least tentatively planned out. It makes me so happy. It's an enormous relief to finally have some kind of plan - even though the dates are rough estimates and will probably change. It's just... Well, I like to plan. Planning is where I'm happiest, and this is just... this is the icing flower on top of the cake. (I don't like cherries. And icing flowers are BONUS icing on top of the normal icing.)
