I got back from my last visit to Nix on Sunday night. Why was it my last visit, you ask? Because the next time I see him it will be because he is MOVING IN. Which is just... all kinds of happy. In less than one month, we will be married. In one month, we will be waking up (or not! hahahaha) in our hotel room and possibly getting breakfast in bed. Then we'll be flying to Disneyworld for our honeymoon. I'm possibly more excited about that than I am the wedding......... and no, not because I'll be getting laid.
I mean, yep. That's a pretty fun bonus to the trip, but no. It's because it's Disneyworld. It's because it's our first "real" vacation together. I mean really, I act like a 13 yr old most of the time anyway, why not go there for our honeymoon? Good choice, Nix. Yep, that's right. He picked Disney. I was hesitant, if you remember, and wanted to go to like, Belize, or something. Disney is a way better "first vacation" together. Besides, we've made the decision that every year we will go "away" together for at least weekend. When I say "away" I mean in a hotel room. Doesn't have to be far away, or anything super fancy. But we're going to do this - and stick to it even once we have kids. I've noticed recently that I feel like everything under the sun is yelling marriage advice at me - and this was one that I heard recently. Once you're married, keep your marriage the priority. Over work, over friends, and even over your kids. Your marriage is THE most important thing in your lives. I mean, you want to stay friends with your spouse, right? I know I do.
Anyway. I've been attempting to write this blog for almost a week now, but really the reason for it is so I can show you pictures from this weekend - specifically, from my hair trial. So now I know how I'm going to get my hair done for the wedding! I booked appointments yesterday for me, my mom, my sister, and my friend (my bridesmaid) at a spa to get manis & pedis the day before. And there will be mimosas - the lady I talked to even suggested it!
It will be a glorious time, I know it. AH. 29 days, guys! 29 days!!! How did this happen????? haha. Anywho! Picture time!
I'm going to ask her to bring down the volume on top & maybe in on the sides a little bit, I feel a little ridiculous with THAT much volume in my hair.
These last few days will flyby in no time!!!

ha, LB, we couldn't afford once-a-month trips. I'm leaning more towards once a year, long-ish trips (like, 4-5 days). However, once Nix moves here we're going to be taking several adventures to Baltimore, DC, Annapolis, and surrounding areas because they're so close. Some day trips, some weekend trips. Unfortunately, nothing longer than a weekend this year. I've used up all my vacation days until January.

PS I just noticed this: in the 3rd picture (the one where you can really see the height of my hair) look in the background. Nix has made a cameo appearance! And yes, he's crocheting. Love that man.
I totally agree about making your marriage the priority. There should always be time for just the two of you.
