I'm trying not to be all gushy and I've been holding this in, but we got tickets purchased the other day and he's coming to see me!! First time!!! he's coming March 25 through April 9 and I don't know what to do with myself in the meantime lol
I need to lose this extra weight I've gained though lol a friend of mine told me she'd start me running because I needed to "build up my stamina" hahaha
I haven't told my mom yet lol she should be a little happier though because when I applied for my passport last year she had a sit down talk over coffee about my going over there first and really felt more comfortable if he came here. I don't think she's still really wild about this, though, but she'll survive I went across the country back in October to meet a female friend of mine I met online and when I told her that my friend's mom was asking her if she was worried I was a serial killer my mom burst out in hysterics I think just from the relief of holding in her anxiety lol
I am really so incredibly excited though! He's never been on a plane and I'm busting his airplane and international cherry all in one swoop! Lol if anyone has any recommendations as far as international travel is concerned please please share! It's been almost twenty years since I've been abroad and I know things have changed. I've flown domestic US flights so I'm aware of getting through security issues, but anything further than that I'm clueless.
Just wanted to share my exciting news!!

I hate the middle seat. I got him aisle seats on the "pond" part of the trip, as I'm calling it lol got him a window for the rest just so he can have that experience and see if he likes it or not. I still love the window but only get it on short flights anymore cause I hate crawling over people for the restroom.
I live in Arizona and tried to get a connection through the southern half of the country in case of weather issues. You know how that goes. He's connecting through Dallas, which I've been through several times. Hopefully I can help him navigate that fairly well, but it's well marked any case.
I read something about the claiming bags and rechecking them. He's on American Airlines the whole way through. I'm hoping they'll transfer his stuff, but did read somewhere they might not so I'll let him know that as well. I've got packing down to a science so hopefully he'll take heed and listen :P
He did ESTA already as well. That's paid for and approved. Pen I didn't even think about. I'll add that to the list as well. I'm going to suggest he take a folder or some such to keep his travel docs in one place. I do that and it seems to help me stay organized better.
I'm really super excited. He is too. His "gushy" is a lot more subdued than mine normally, but he got pretty gushy today when we talked about it lol at the local airport they installed a CCTV monitor so you can see passengers as they're making their way to the escalator and, ultimately, you. I've dreamed about seeing him come down those stairs for so long, I can't believe it's actually going to happen!! if you think if anything else PM or post here. I just want this to be relatively smooth for him since this is his first time
Thank you so much Redheart!! Like Moon said, first times only happen once and this one will be special for the pair of us!
