It shouldn't surprise me every time, but no matter how much I know rationally that time flies, I still can't believe it. By this time next week, my SO will be asleep next to me - And he won't have to leave in a few weeks!

I was sure the pieces would fall in places, but I'm still so overjoyed that it worked out. One of my SO's professors offered him a few positions, including one right in my city that my SO would absolutely love to take. It's an internship that will lead into a full position later. He won't get a full salary right off the bat, since it'll start as the internship and all, but with my income, we can manage that. Since this is exactly what he wants to do, I can compromise no problem. Having him here with me will be worth it!

It's all so surreal. I'm sure I'll take a while until it'll sink in that he's going to stay for good. It's all coming together just right. Heck, even his family is all on board now. They've really come around and are happy for us now. Credit where credit is due, even though they are still nagging and patronizing him, they are genuinely behind him. And once there's enough distance between my SO and his family, I think their relationship and respect for each other will improve a lot too. My family and friends are already eager to see him again, and welcome him as a regular part of our social circles.

We got a lot of bureaucracy, adjustment pains and homesickness ahead of us, but we both feel that together, we can take all of that on. We made it this far, we'll make it through that too. Being LDR has taught us so much and really brought us closer together than you'd think with so many miles between us. The ways we learnt to communicate, understand ourselves and deal with issues are going to pay off for a long time to come.

I've never really had it easy, but somehow, I've always managed. But for once in my life, I feel 100%, truly and genuinely ready for something. Not just kinda sorta, but for real. And I couldn't be more excited that I'm not alone.

This community always gave me a lot of insight and support, and I thank everyone of you for it. I'll stick around for sure.
