I know by now I have quite a few of you on Facebook so these pictures might not be new to everyone, but still thought I'd give an update on how my graduation was

I joined the choir for the graduation ceremony so the entire week was filled with rehearsals, to the point where my throat was really sore the day before we were performing, which then turned into a real cold (no fever though luckily) so that wasn't optimal for singing haha! All that traveling back and forth for rehearsals, on top of a full time job and other graduation preparations made for a very stressful week. On Friday morning I went to get my hair done, which was really fun of course. Then I went straight through to the theater where the ceremony would take place for more choir rehearsals. After that, everybody else arrived and we had to rehearse the procession and the conferring of the degrees. It's harder than it sounds! A lot of people's tassles few off their caps while turning it to the other side, the first time we practised. The procession was also a mess because they had only given us a card with the person in front of us and behind us, so based on that 100 people had to neatly line up... Well that wasn't gonna happen obviously, so they just called all our names and then we had to remember our spot on the side of the stage.

It was HOT that day, and it was in a beautiful old theater but that didn't help at all! It really wasn't fun in our black polyester gowns on a stage with bright lights... But aside from all those minor inconveniences, the ceremony itself was really an amazing experience. The speeches were even quite fun and interesting! The choir performances also went really well and the reception afterwards was great. Here's a picture in my blue dress, that I posted about in my previous blog. I loved it!

So the day after, we had a big party in our backyard because my dad and my brother also had their birthdays that week, so we chose to celebrate it all in one go. We had great weather, which is rare over here, even in the summer sometimes... So in short, everything was amazing haha And now I'll take a final opportunity to brag about my diploma. I am not comfortable doing this anywhere else because it probably makes me sound like a horribly arrogant person, but I graduated magna cum laude from an honors college and I'm super proud of it! Here's proof

Now I only have two weeks left at work, and then we're going to Tanzania and Zanzibar. I've never done anything like that so I'm quite nervous, as I don't really know what to expect! I'm hoping to see a lot of beautiful animals though, but I think that won't be a problem Hope your summers/winters (since we have a wide variety of continents here..) are going well too!
