I shall blog instead, because hey, nothing makes you feel quite like a college student like that feeling of wanting to die the night before something is due because you procrastinated over it for days am I right??

The house is finally in the bag, so we are just waiting for the closing date which has been scheduled for 3.30pm on the 30th The problem is my in-laws are coming to visit on the 2nd, and we're considering trying to shift all the big stuff over there so they have an actual bed to sleep in rather than a mattress on the living room floor of our apartment. I have a feeling we're going to have a horrible day/night shifting things and rebuilding furniture, but I think it might be worth it if it means we're not living on top of each other for a week? Our apartment is the same size as the basement in the new house.

We'll see. We went to check out sofas on Saturday and we really liked one sectional, but we don't know the dimensions of the basement stairs so it might not fit =/ I would have liked to have the sofa in place so my SIL doesn't have to sleep on this damned awful futon! I hope we can measure up on the 30th, if the furniture place has it in stock, and it fits, we could pick it up when we still have the u-haul. I freaking hate moving!! But I'm too cheap to pay someone else to do it for us lol

Here's some pictures, they're a bit older as I think they tried to sell the place a few years back when the market was bad, but same difference:

The upstairs sitting area- so briiiight!

The basement- we're going to turn this into our TV room- really hoping the internet works down there!

The kitchen- we need to buy a stand-alone pantry as there isn't much cupboard space, but its big enough to add some extra storage

Our new bedroom- I'm not a fan of the black accent wall (my SO is) or the boob-shaped light fixture, but again easily fixed

and our little patio:

So no garden, but we're literally next to a park which contains a dog park, so Dave and the future puppies still have a place to play I really wasn't expecting to love our first house, not with the house prices out here, but I think we're going to be really happy here, as its nice already but there's room to grow into it and make it our own

In other news, we're heading out to New Orleans on Wednesday!!! My SO finally got his suit jacket back from the tailor's and his groomsman outifit doesn't look nearly as bad as we thought it would- getting it fitted really helped a lot! There is a black cloud over this whole trip though, and I hope the bride isn't still going to be procrastinating about everything when we get there- my SO actually cracked last week. I've never ever heard him speak a bad word about his friends before but he was almost in tears telling me how one-sided this whole friendship has become and how he's slowly starting to hate this girl.

I'm trying to stay open minded about her but with one thing after another, she makes it so difficult! She's lived a very sheltered life, and whilst her family and fiance have signed up to run around after her, giving her what she wants, the rest of the world hasn't, and its just so frustrating! Its like no-one gives a crap that you calligraphied the addresses on the envelopes that they are going to throw straight in the bin, but they do want to know where they can sleep. It was like pulling teeth trying to get hotel block information out of them!

The groomsmen have been having an epic email grumble session- We don't even know what we're supposed to do when we get there. The wedding is on Friday, we have no information about when the rehearsal is, the location of the rehearsal dinner or a even a time to be ready for or what they want of the wedding party and where they need to be on the actual day. Nothing. The only thing we do know is "Not to bother them on Wednesday as they will be spending time with their family". Great, that helps a lot! I'm hoping there is some sort of welcome packet when we get to the hotel?? Welp, a lot of drinking is going to occur at any rate, and we get to hang out with my SO's best friend and his wife which we are both looking forward to the most. In fact I think that is the only reason his friend is going to the wedding lol Long Distance bromance

Other than wedding meltdowns and furniture shopping, we have had a quiet Easter weekend- we planted our herb garden outside and we went to check out Red Rocks Amphitheater, or rather walked round the rock formations surrounding it as we had Mr Dave with us, which was pretty cool.

I wouldn't do it in Summer though, it was hot out there already so I bet the place is teeming with rattle snakes in Summer *shudder* As it was Dave learned his lesson about sniffing cacti
