I haven't been wedding dress shopping yet. Mostly because it is probably going to be one of the most expensive thing we'll have to get for the wedding, but so far every dress I see is not good enough, because I am stupidly still holding on to this dress I saw on a computer game years ago:
It is just the perfect dress to me!!
I found a lot of dresses online, which I really liked, but then I always think "what if it looks weird on me?" and click it away. For someone who didn't wear any dresses from age 7 to 23 it's hard to know what kind of dress would look good on me - SCREW YOU peer pressure and family pressure, I suppose. I also feel like I'd feel weird if I went to a bridal shop and there would be someone taking time out of his/her day to find a dress for me, but I really should start thinking about getting one. My man knows EXACTLY what he wants to wear, but then again it's much easier for guys, I suppose.
I did a lot of dress shopping, and let me warn you, if you're not generally into that girly shit it might be very painful and frustrating and awkward for you. I'm only saying this because I wished someone had warned me. I thought it was going to be fantastic and fun and dear lord, no it isn't. None of what I tried on in bridal stores could I actually afford, even in the consignment places. Some advice, take one or two people, not a whole flock of them.
I can't see a picture if you posted one of your dream dress, but there are plenty of places online that make replica dresses (mine was a replica of a designer dress) that look great even if they aren't the best quality (hell, it only has to last one day) and are at prices normal people can pay And if it looks weird on you? Sell it on craigslist and try again
In the early days of planning, I fell in love with a certain dress. Ball gown, cap sleeves... but it turned out it was an old style and nowhere had the dress to try on. I ended up taking a print out of random dresses I liked to a salon, and "The Dress" turned out to be one I thought was boring from the picture on the internet. A-line, lace but a lot more glittery than what I would usually go for. My friend bought hers yesterday and in her words "It is everything I didn't want in a wedding dress" XD
I would just take the plunge and go to a salon. Try on different styles, see what silhouettes suit you, and if you go away empty handed, its still ok! You could even find a seamstress and work with them to get you what you envisioned. Another friend of mine did exactly that because she couldn't find one she liked anywhere.
is it the Ragnarok Online game wedding dress? I love that game and the dress is adorable. Ignore this if I rescued the wrong image lol
Check out the ball gowns, probably in a color like ivory or blush with a basque waist and off the shoulder neckline, it is actually a very traditional and romantic style. To me that dress always looked like it had some sort of embroidery at the end of the skirt
My dress ended up being super affordable and something I always thought I couldn't have. Unless you have your heart set on certain designer/store, you would be surprised how affordable it can be with a bit of patience and luck
