I'm leaving Stephen in a little over 2 weeks.

Our initial plans were to apply for the Fiancée Visa as soon as I leave, then wait for it to be (hopefully) approved and once we know when I'll be able to come back to America, plan a wedding accordingly.
The Fiancée Visa once acquired gives you 6 months in which you have to come to America to get married, so our plan was to see when we'll get and then book a photographer, DJ and all that jazz in advance to be there when I arrive.

Now that leaving is closer and closer I'm thinking.. maybe I should just come back as soon as I can, get married in a small setting with whoever would like to come (church is free!) and have a bigger wedding party for our 1 or 2 year anniversary.

I mean there's a lot of pros:
I could start working on my teaching job sooner, I could start working sooner, I could live with my man not worrying about going back, I could start to go to college sooner and get a master's degree sooner which'll help me with my teaching job in the long run.

But I'm not sure if I want to sacrifice a bigger wedding for this.
So to all of you who are married and had big weddings - would you recommend it?
To all of you who had a small wedding - did you regret not having a bigger one?

I'm really torn between staying away for 6-10 months with no visits (1000$ saved each time) saving money for a bigger wedding and just leaving as soon as I can and have a small wedding and maybe more visits in between.
