I suppose I should make a blog about this at some point, somehow I seemed to always either be too busy or figure it's not that important at that moment, well here we go!

After the visa interview things progressed rather quickly. The same week we found out I can't finish my studies in Austria we booked the tickets for the 20th of November for me to move over to America. In the morning, my parents brought me to the airport, they gave me a lot of Euros to spend on my trip so I wouldn't be hungry, cold or miserable, they told me to make sure to buy food and talk to them whenever possible. I hugged my mom and my dad and then I started this journey into a rather unknown future.

My trip was fine, rather boring. I remember using my phone in Austria to talk to my siblings, I remember my twin sending people updates on my trip, making sure to let everyone know where I was and how things were, they were alright. The plane food was not the best, worse than on my previous trips, the entertainment much better. I was really nervous about my visa, because I knew there was a small interview upcoming and I have, once again, read so many horror stories of hour long interviews that to me this was the most grueling part, but all in all, it was a 5 minute conversation with a really nice officer. The only thing he asked me was how long I have known him "How long have you known this fella?" and I replied truthfully, "tomorrow it will be 2 and a half years" and so to him this was legit, I guess. He stamped my passport and showed me where to get to my next gate and where to take my luggage and that was it.

I landed in Hartford at 7pm and no one was there. I knew that was going to happen, but somehow I was hoping for someone to be there and pick me up, but nothing. After about an hour or a little longer finally my man came towards me and immediately complimented me on my appearance, how thin I looked (even though I had not lost any weight, but that's nice to hear after not seeing each other for almost a year). We kissed, we held hands, we hugged each other and then we got a ride home from my brother in law, who was REALLY excited to have me back, his family loves me and that's really a wonderful feeling

The same day I had an allergic reaction to the dust in his room which gave me pneumonia that I suffered from for about a week or two, it was really annoying, but I got through it eventually and a week later we started to prepare for the wedding.

I made wedding invitations myself that we sent out / handed to the ~25 couples who were invited. The preparations were stressful and we spent a lot of money on a lot of things, but all in all, it was perfect and everyone loved the reception so much, we still keep hearing about it. Our guests even thought the food we provided was catered, yet we had made it all ourselves

The wedding day itself was beautiful. It had snowed the night before so there was a little snow on the ground (about 2-3 inches), but again, it only added to the theme. My hairdresser canceled on me so we had to have one of my SIL's friends do my hair and make up and it came out perfect. Seriously, I am still in love with the way I looked on that day!

WARNING: We don't have the official pictures yet, all of these were taken by phones :P

Since my family couldn't be there, we sent these pictures to them once we were done getting me all prettied up

My bridal party and me (all his sisters):

Our first dance - they put a BOWLING BALL on his ankle and we danced through our first song with it:

I don't have pictures of the ceremony, but I have some of our cake, the custom paintjob for our cake topper and of us eating it :P

I had my wedding dress with me, but my mom had gotten me a fur wrap to go along with our Christmas theme that was shipped separately. My husband's step-mom and dad got us a nice little gotaway at Old Sturbridge Village where we could just hang out for 2 days and enjoy ourselves wihtout having ot have a car, which was really nice, being able to walk everywhere and just be with one another.

Now we've been married for 3 months and it's still wonderful. We have had a couple disagreements over things, but since we're both rather laid back, we don't argue very often or very long. We have applied for my Adjustment of Status within the 90 day timeframe and have been to the biometrics appointment, but other than that, nothing really happened with this. I should get my work permit within the next months and then I'll start trying to sell my cards.

Life is pretty good and I have a really good husband
