In the end I picked something and we went and had fun anyway, but it would be nice to be surprised occasionally or not have to be the one to come up with everything. But yeah, now when I get excited about something there's this little dark cloud on the edge, wondering if he's going to let me down.
Luckily it's a small thing. Price of admission!
So today was my last day. I'm free. It's over. No more poo stories. No more being stuffed around, getting called in at the last minute or being told my shift is getting cut when I'm already half way to work. No more dealing with exploding toilets, chunder in the carpet, fighting for towels, finding nipple clamps or half eaten chicken or lost socks under the bed, no more condoms flung across the room for me to pick up, no more nasty surprises in the ice pail, babies nappies behind the furniture stinking up the room, yellow puddles of pee on the floor... No more shaking with exhaustion after long weeks with no days off, no more crying in fear of having to face another day of it.... It's over.
Going to go out the back and have a rum with the parents while I wait for Obi to get home. And try and let my unemployedness settle in.
17 days until I fly out, still no visa.
And 17 days..it's still a while.
Ryan - Thanks
Update:
So, last night wasn't a complete disaster. Just mostly lol. He'd planned that after dinner we'd go out and get some cheesecake (I love cheesecake) and some fondue chocolate and strawberries, and of course some bubbly wine. Not a bad plan really! Except he didn't drop any hints there would be food, so I didn't leave any belly room at dinner, then before we went out he fed me even more (we have a stash of junk food in our bedroom haha). Then he told me to get dressed and put shoes on, so I did thinking we were going somewhere fun.... but we ended up at the supermarket
We tried to go for a walk instead, but it was really damn cold, so we ended up at home both feeling bummed out and disapoited.
We talked of course. I'm like "I'll try not to ask for surprises anymore, it just leads to disapointment." and he's like "No, I can't get better at it if you don't teach me how." So I told him that his base plan was good, but his lead-up (dropping hints so I know there's desert, and not over-feeding me) and follow-through (having something to do planned to go with the nice food) needed help, and I offered a bunch of random ideas off the top of my head that could have salvaged the night if there'd been a little more planning.
And then it was late. We were willing to start over, maybe game into the early hours or watch a movie and snuggle, but of course we can't do that because we can't make noise after 10pm and neither of us have a working headset at the moment (need to fix that if we're going LD again, that's for sure!)
We were about to sleep. It was a right-off. And we were both dozing off laying there anyway. But, I had to get my cat (he sleeps in our room and we close the door) and do the nightly routine. Getting out of bed woke me up, and Messiah was being a shit so Obi got up to catch him and that woke him up a little. It was now 11:30, and I was a little peckish, so when Obi came back to the room I'm like "So, about that cheesecake...."
That cheesecake was so full of awesome. Which is really surprising seeming it was store-brand. And we drank our crappy $7 wine which was also surprisingly great and easy to drink (which probably means people who drink wine would find it terrible lol). And we followed that down with awesome head
And now I better get him out of bed or nothing will get done on this sunny day!
