I didn't think to set an end date at the beginning of our LDR, but my SO insisted. Now I realise that this is one of the things that gives me hope for a end to our LDR.Originally posted by Mindflayer View PostThoughts on what made it work for us:- We also had a firm end date to this from the start.
- Some LDR "experts" say to not talk to each other all the time, some recommend it. We both talk to each other as much as we can, sharing the mundane stuff of the day. That worked for us.

And I sooo agree on sharing news, even the most mundane, haha. It allows us learn more about each other and how we tick, I think.
Well done, and congrats!
I'm looking forward to my own happy ending one day, just like yours!

My SO and I also had a rough date as to when we were closing the distance (I would have gone to him the day I knew he was staying there, but I had just begun a lease the day he moved, so we knew it had to be around July 2012) and it helped. Then my mom and stepdad are going to visit his dad, who happens to live near where my SO does (well, it's still five hours away, but much closer than the 16 hour drive we'd have now) over Memorial Day, so it was just perfect timing. SO is meeting us there, I'm leaving with him.Originally posted by ccub View PostI didn't think to set an end date at the beginning of our LDR, but my SO insisted.
