Meeting for the first time on 12-16-2012

    Freaking out!!!!!!

Less than 36 hours till I see him

    CANT WAIT!!!!

I'm freaking out about flying for the first time, and my layover, but it will be okay im sure!!!

    anyways, any advice?

I made him a present I went to AC Moore and bought a cute little box and spray painted it black with a glossy coat on top, and then Printed out pictures of me and him I edited by putting a pic of him and a pic of me next to each other and putting lyrics on them. There are like 20 pictures, and Im putting some poems I've written and drawings I've done in as well, and sooo beyond excited to give it to him!!!!! anyways

    Any Advice?

Aww congrats on seeing him for the first time!! Its an awesome feeling!! Its normal to be nervous! He's probably just as nervous as you are! Advice on flying? Just pay attention to your surroundings and hold onto your things! And if you have any questions or trouble, just ask the airport employees. Thats what they are there for!
    Congrats! and Good luck!!

flying is easy. Just follow signs and directions... you'll be fine.. first meetings are awesome and nerve wracking and amazing... 2nd, and 3rd meetings are awesome too... so don't put too much pressure on yourself that everything has to be perfect because it's the first meeting...

      Have fun! Take pictures!

Aww, I LOVE the present you made him. I think it's so cute and I'm sure he'll think so too. Anyway, flying is a cinch. Seriously, all you have to do is follow everyone else, but your stuff in the overhead and follow directions. Oh, and just be calm. It's kinda weird feeling during take off and landing, but seriously, it's super easy. Then on your layover don't leave past security unless you have to! If you leave through the security gates (like to go outside the airport) you'll have to go back through security again which can take forever! Anyway, good luck!

Wow.. that's great... can't even imagine what you must be going through. I#ll be in the same postition as you are now ( only I have flown before.. quite a bit ) ) in spring. So please let us know how it went. Best of luck to you guys and I hope you have an awesome visit. Fingers crossed!
for flying.. if you have motion sickness, you'll be able to get some pills at the pharmacy. just ask the assistant what is the best for motion sickness. Given that you'll be very nervous anyway because you're meeting your SO for the first time, and it will be your first flight too.. you might get super agitated.. so you can maybe do or get something with you that will help calm you down through it - herbal teas, yoga, a comfortable shirt that makes you feel good ...dunno.. whatever works for you

Depending on where you are flying from, airport security can get pretty anal about larger bottles of liquid. so you can check the website of the airline or your airport for their guidelines on that. Aannddd.. put the most important things for you in your hand luggage.

Having flown out to see my girlfriend twice, I would definitely suggest being at the airport early; this will give you some flexibility getting through security and finding your gate. Being there a whole two hours early is infinitely better than being only two minutes late. Pay attention to the departure boards, especially if your flight hasn't been assigned a gate (this happened to me the second time coming home).

In terms of packing, I didn't want to make my life any more complicated getting through the gate, and frankly I didn't understand all the rules on liquids, so I didn't pack any of that stuff and bought travel-sized shampoo and toothpaste there. I also crammed everything I needed for the trip, including five days worth of clothes, into my carry-on so I avoided the fee for checking bags.

If everything goes smoothly, you'll be shocked at how easy it all feels. That's how it's supposed to be.

Having only recently (two months ago) been in your position, I'll say this: it'll be worth it. Have a wonderful trip and enjoy your time with him.

Then make plans to see him again

                It went AMAZINGLY

You guys were completely and totally 100000% right!!

Flying was EASY....my parents and I stayed in a hotel the night before because the airport (in Charlotte NC) is a little over 2 hours from my house. I didn't sleep at all the night before my flight (the 15th of December) but thats okay, my dad stayed up too and we talked and joked around all night. I had a small issue with getting my bag that was going to be checked to be under 50lbs...but I managed to do it somehow! lol, we got to the airport and it was like 60lbs so my mom made me step aside and take a few things out, then we re-weighed it and it was 50lbs...then I stood in line for a while to go through the TSA thing (my parents stayed with me until I was first in line, then we hugged and said bye and they stepped aside and waited till I was cleared through then they left) which was fine except I wore cowboy boots and you have to take off your shoes....but whatever lol.
Then I managed to find my plane JUST in time, and I boarded and the first flight attendant I saw I smiled at and said "I have no idea what I'm doing" and she smiled back and said "Well, thats what I'm here for" and she looked at my ticket thing and led me to my seat. (I had the emergency exit so the flight attendants kept coming back to me and asking if I was okay with that seat).
I texted my love and told him I boarded my plane, and had to turn my phone off.
Anyways, I got comfortable...and took out my digital camera and took pictures the entire flight. The whole experience was surprisingly easy.
Then I landed in Atlanta Georgia for my layover and THANK GOODNESS we got there like 30 min early making my 45 min layover a 1 hour and 15 min layover....soooo I had a little wiggle room to get lost.

I got off the plane and turned my phone back on (my love asked me to call him when I got to Georgia) so I called my love, and walked through the airport looking for where I needed to be.....but I walked paast it (The Atlanta Georgia airport is HUGE)...anyways, I stopped and asked a guy in a airport security uniform where I needed to go, and he pointed me back, and I had to go on a tram....and yeah lol....

I then called my parents and told them how my first flight went and everything. Luckily I was early to the flight (it hadn't started boarding yet) so I stopped and used the restroom real quick. Then waited and boarded the flight.
Turns out we had to wait a little while before taking off because they had to fix something on the plane. but It was fine.
That flight the attendants wouldn't let me take pictures which sucked...but its okay lol.

I don't think the realization of seeing my love really hit me until I saw land in Iowa....I almost started crying at the fact I was not only in the same time zone as my love, but in a matter of minutes I'd see him in person. But I kept it together. We landed and got off the plane and I turned my phone back on. I followed the signs to baggage and called him. He answered the phone and said "Yeah yeah I know, you landed" and I just grinned like a crazy person and started giggling..... then I said I was following the signs to Baggage Pick Up and was in the waiting area, but I didn't know as soon as I got on the escalator I would be staring straight into the waiting area.

I spotted him immediately, and I was smiling watching him try to figure out who I was. I got down there and walked straight to him, it was sooooo weird at first, he seemed soooo tall and it was just perfect. I couldn't have been happier with how ANYTHING went.

We got my bag and got in his truck and headed home.

                Now....lol
Remember how I said I had to take a few things out of my bag to get it underweight? Well my mom shipped me that stuff, and the box I made for him. Anyways, I've already given him the box, and I'm pretty sure he loves it.

Everything is beyond perfect. I'm staying with his family, and I absolutely love it here. I've been here for 29 days, and He's just incredible.
                He makes me speechless.
I love him even more now than ever before, and I honestly didnt think that was possible.
