    I'd definitely go for it! Your parents shouldnt stop you and since they arent supporting you and you wont be living with them then go and do what you like

      I agree, you sound like you know what you are doing but wish for your parents approval which is not a bad thing, but they are not exactly being supportive or even mature for that matter, so I say do it but don't burn any bridges!

      This might sound a bit cold but here is how I see it:
      1. It works and you both live happily ever after, your family might even come around after seeing you both happy.
      2. It works for a while, but then decide to just be friends, not only did you had a good start in that city you now have a safety net with him and his family.
      3. It doesn't work and you never speak to him or his family again, your family laughs at you.

      Even at the worse case scenario, assuming you have some emergency savings and a job, you would have your education and you get to start fresh away from the negativity around your home. As a side note, do your best to be thankful for his family support and don't overstay your welcome or cause a rift between him and his family, it's the least you can do.
