    Shortened the distance!

Last weekend I moved from The Netherlands to the UK to go to uni for a year!
Now, instead of 500 miles away, I live about 50 miles away from my SO. We should be able to see each other quite often now and plan loads of little things together.

Now I just need to hope that I like my uni course and that I make some nice friends of my own around here.
Not sure if this makes me a LFAD-Alumni, as it still takes me 3hrs+ to get to her with the bus, but it's a definite step forward for us!

Congratulations! It is still a LDR in my book. My SO and I are two hours apart but when we are not together, it might as well be 200 hours. The difficulties of not being together are still the same. The good news is you can visit more often. The bad news is that you have to say goodbye more often and that's the part that kills me. Go luck and enjoy school.

                That's excellent!

I'd say you're still LD, technically, as this is presumably a temporary shortening. But if you are planning on staying in the UK afterwards, then hey, congrats on ending the distance!

50 miles is a reasonable drive for weekend visits, and while there will be more goodbyes, there's only 5 days before the next hello!

If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion...love actually is all around

It's still LD in my book, but at least you'll see each other often, right?

And I'm sure you'll make a ton of friends at Uni here, the foreign lads who were studying the same subject as me were always very made to feel very welcome

It's great so far, although it sort of still feels like a holiday.
