It took me a long time to find the present I wanted to buy, but yesterday I finally bought it. My SO will receive a nice white sweater (an Italian brand, as I'm italian). I also bought some shoes for him. Not sure if I'll give them to him on Christams or on January 15th, our first anniversary. I thought of putting inside the shoes a little package with something like a jewellery. It's 1 year together, I feel like celebrate a lot!!!

For my SO:
- Tickets to go up the Eiffel Tower, plus dinner reservations in the restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Tower.
- A $5 stainless steel ring so I can reverse-propose to him when we are up there
- A stocking with his name on it- we made a list of 5 Scavenger hunt items and each of us have been to the dollar/pound store for the stocking fillers
- A calender from Vistaprint.com, made from photos of us
- Then some random stuff, underwear, socks and a scarf
For our families we have both been buying bits and pieces for joint presents:
My Mum: I got her a vistaprint calender of old family photos I have scanned, and a canvas of her favourite photo of our dog. My SO got her a Professor Layton DS game
My Dad: I got him a crate of wine with a Groupon for Virgin wines lol, my SO got him a COD DS game
His Parents: My SO has converted all their old home videos onto digital file, I've bought them some nice chocolates from my favourite chocolate store which they love, and we need to get them some other stuff when we go shopping here and in Paris. Maybe an English History book for his dad. No idea for his Mom
His little Sister: I have bought her chocolates too, her Bridesmaid dress, and a passport cover and luggage tag. I need to get her something from Paris also. Maybe some perfume or a painting/drawing for her dorm room...
My Sister: didn't want to get her anything, but I thought it would cause a fuss if I didn't so she's got a box of chocolates and her boyfriend has an amazon gift card.

Ahhhh Christmas! Last year, I couldn't stop buying my SO presents. There were so many good things! This year, I am having such a hard time! I was thinking of maybe getting him tickets to a hockey game so we can go on a date when I'm there for winter break. When I asked him what he wanted, he did say I could take him on a date so I figured this would work. That's the idea I'm leaning towards now probably along with some nice sweaters or shirts. I am totally counting on the days right before the holiday to pull this all together!

My dad: I got him a wallet and i'm making him a T-shirt with his favorite college football teams logo on the front
My mom: A t-shirt with something on it (not sure what yet) and an electric blanket
My brother: a hat of his favorite football team and a t-shirt with his favorite football teams logo on the front and the team name on the back
My sister in law: Some bath salts/body washes and a homemade recipe book
My nephews: I'm making all of them t-shirts with their names on the back and some type of picture on the front and i'm also getting each of them their own cup from the disney store
My dog: I'm making her homemade healthy dog treats and buying her a new toy and a bone.
My guy (not dating): I'm making him some reese's pieces cheesecake cookies and 2 reese's pieces cheesecakes (like 6"), i'm also making him some banana and chocolate chip cookies, I'm getting him 3 t-shirts, 2 pairs of pants and a pair of shoes. I'm also getting him a $50 visa gift card and a $50 sizzler gift card. Then i'll be getting him a new 360 with my gift cards from amazon (he actually won't get it until after Christmas though), I'm getting him a used car (he'll just have to pay the car payments, but insurance will be covered by me for the first year along with gas) and finally i will either add him to my cellphone plan and make it a family plan which would mean we both get cellphone upgrades for free or i'll get him a $20 prepaid voucher and use my free cellphone upgrade to get him a new phone.

My SO is really big into Sherlock Holmes right now, and has always liked oldy-worldy sorts of things. He doesn't have a strong box (in fact he had no idea what one was when I told him) for valuables. Sooooo I found a book safe. That is...a safe, (with keys) that is shaped like a book. Hangs out on your book shelf with all your other favorites.
Inside it, I put two candy canes shaped like a heart inside the safe, with a little note from me. The extra joke is that the book is an "English Dictionary." This is funny because we always joke about how Americans bastardized English and he, being the Brit, is obligated to defend his language for the rest of his life. xD
Second thing I got him was a "special effects snow kit" Its some sort of powder that when you add water it turns into snow somehow. Just a little fun thing for his inner mad scientist. He loves the snow and they don't get a lot in Wales...so since he could no longer come and enjoy the New England blizzards...I thought I'd send him some snow of his own.
Also, as a tradition of ours, I always hide a little piece of wrapping paper with 143 written in a heart SOMEWHERE among his gifts. This year I taped it to the keys of the safe.
Shipping was through the roof compared to other years. I guess now I know shipping a SAFE isn't really the most economical choice LOL!

This Christmas, I got him a flame-less candle with some pumpkin spice scent to go with it. He saw it in a catalogue and really wanted to get it - it's going to look great in our living room.
