Hello everyone.
One June afternoon I was reading some article on the Internet, and apparently an online penpal website I used from time to time was on in one of my tabs. It started flashing and I reflexively clicked on it - but little did I know that it would change my life for good. A comment, a long series of private messages in a very short time, exchanging email ID's... I found myself chatting constantly with my soon-to-be SO in no time. And something deeper, something special grew out of that casual talk. The rest is history.
He changed me absolutely and completely. Gave my life meaning and an ultimate purpose. And, now, here we are, together for over a year and going strong despite my very unsupportive and discouraging parents, and financial odds. We could not yet meet each other in person for obvious reasons, but we know for sure that we were meant to be. For the time being we live 1,392 miles apart - a 17 and 19 year old couple - building our future, hand in hand.
Well, that's our story in a nutshell.
I have been lurking on LFAD for quite a while now, and I wanted to thank everyone for their lovely stories, advice and musings. I am sure that many people, as well as me, have had a tough time in their LDR's (and oddly enough, not mainly because of the distance...) and needed someone that can actually understand them. I must say LFAD is an incredibly wonderful community with incredibly open minded and supportive people.
Thank you very much and wish you all the best of luck!

I've had my cat since I was 7, so I'm a bit biased because we've bonded incredibly and he honestly has the personality of a dog (seriously, he wants to be cuddled practically ALL the time). My sister's cat is more "cat-like," though, and I love him too. I will say that I don't feel they're as independent as everyone says. They do like their cuddles. They do like to be smushed. They do like being on the receiving end of love and affection, and giving it too! But they aren't needy/demanding of it in the same way that dogs are. xD But they are seriously wonderful, have immense amount of personality, and are quite easy to care for, as far as pets go. I absolutely adore mine and will probably always have cats in my life, so in answer to your question, my cat's company is probably my favourite company of all pets (though I love them all equally for their own reasons! Well, my cat is probably my favourite, but he's also the one I've had the longest and am connected to at what I feel is a soul level, so I'm allowed).
