    Hey new here..

So I thought I'd jump in ...this site looks amazing.

So I'm 21 from London in the UK and met my SO whilst he was studying abroad here at my university. We'd known each other since school started but I was in a pretty dysfunctional relationship at the time which finally blew up in March. After that we met at a leaving party for some mutual friend at the beginning of May and were inseperable from that point on, school having ended was definitely a bonus. We have fallen head over heels for each other, fast, which some people call crazy but I couldn't be happier- he squashed all the sadness and doubts the previous mess had left me with, and is amazing is every way.

However he left at the end of July and though we only had the best part of 2 months together we decided to give it a go. He lives in Ottawa, CA and we've skyped every day since he went :-) it's already hard though, given how new the relationship is, but I just know it feels right, right?

Planning visits is hard because I'm now graduated and looking for work whereas he has a year left of school at home- but hoping for one before if not at Christmas.

So yeh, hello! and nice to meet you all x

Hey I'm sorry about the overly-detailed ramble...heh , tried to brief the situ but maybe it was quite a long one.

Thanks everyone though, this forum looks great and it's nice to meet people in the same situation, I'm kind of stuck on the fact we spent 24/7 for 3 weeks together then he just went and wishing we'd have had a bit of a longer run before he had to go home....is sad.

Hey How did you guys meet if you don't mind me nosing? I'm hoping he's coming over for Xmas and I go back for a week or two in January- bit of a pipe dream but airtransat is like...my faith at the moment, found some cheap flights to Toronto from £243 single which was a nice surprise when I was expecting £700 returns. And hey, I'm living in London for now too [used to live in Norwich].

Quick Q, again if you don't mind- did you find any problems with arriving in Canada [if you are the Brit] without a return air ticket, cos I've heard it could be but also I might not know how long exactly I'm staying before going, which maybe isn't wise?

My SO is from Norwich! We met while both living abroad. We were looking for flights yesterday to go see my fam in Canada for xmas with Canadian Affair it is about £650 but when I went home mid Jan this year it was £400 so we aren't sure if we are going to go for xmas of after. I wouldn't go with a one way ticket if you don't have any sort of holiday or work visa, it is also cheaper to book return rather then one way.

Oh that is weird. He was on a year abroad from Canada and I was in my final year at the UEA- have you ever visited Norwich? It's beautiful, I've moved home after grad and miss it so much already.

Ahh thanks for the details, I did suspect this, especially with travelling over Christmas/New Year's, airtransat/travel zoo have always come up with some good options for me but I spose it depends where in Canada- I've heard cos I'd be flying to Toronto it's cheaper. And yeh, I thought that, plus I've found some are good about flexidates or don't have a HORRIFIC changing charge [about $70 Canadian]- though re:Visas for a holiday it doesn't seem I need one with a Brit passport? Realistically speaking though I -am- aiming to be working in some form by then so making a solid set of dates is a lot wiser. Thanks again

I meant a holiday work visa. You don't need a visa to visit.
