Hey all! I'm Angela. I currently attend UC Riverside and am a newbie to this forum because my boyfriend left for Indonesia to teach English. I'm about to start my fourth and final year at UCR, and we've already agreed that I'll get my teaching certificate, a job abroad together, and we'll travel the world. The rest will be history. While I am very proud of him, the adjustments have proven disheartening.
Matthew and I met two years ago at a spring Orchestra and Choir concert. He was playing cello in the orchestra, and I was signing in the choir. We performed Dona Nobis Pacem by Ralph Vaughn Williams. Such a beautiful piece, I digress. Us meeting happened kind of abruptly and not directly, but we ended up carpooling to the after party. Let me just say, it was love at first sight. But I had a boyfriend at the time, so I controlled myself (haha not for long though). We got to know each other pretty well over the summer. I broke up with the other dud and we decided to embark on our relationship before the next school year. We've been inseparable ever since. Up until this past August.
Leading up to his departure, I knew the separation was going to be difficult. And no matter how much I tried to mentally prepare myself, nothing really worked. I miss him very much. So now I am here; to share my thoughts about LDR, my SO, and to gain and give support to others in the same position. This is hard, but not impossible.
One thing's for sure, love knows no boundaries and no distance.
