I'm not exactly new.. I've been around for a little over 3 months actually but I never got around to posting an "introduction" here.

I'm 16 years young and I'm a sophomore in high school here in beautiful Northern Virginia. The people that live around here like add the 'northern' part because there is a distinct difference (no offense to the other Virginians). I live in a great neighborhood with my mom, dad and little sister. My mom is a school bus driver. Please don't think of all the stereotypes that come along with that job. She is the most beautiful woman I know and the guys around the bus garage check her out. The best part? She's an eleven-year breast cancer survivor. Battled it once and it never came back. My dad works in IT. He was laid off about two months ago but has since accepted a job offer that starts a little after the first of the year. I'm the smart kid but also the least intelligent. I could get straight A's but I procrastinated and I'm lazy sometimes. I'm a band geek (not marching band) and me and my flute are besties. Haha. I absolutely love drawing and writing if I've got something to say. I've taken Latin for three and a half years because I adore my teacher and it's pretty easy too. I took ballet for a decade but eventually quit due to my strong dislike of the teacher and financial reasons. All I want now is to start my lyrical classes again. However I found out a few days ago that my old teacher had gone to teach at our rival studio. This makes me cry, literally. Sometimes, I just don't know what to do anymore..

My SO (Mathew) is 18 going on 19. He's a senior in high school up in Washington state. He lives with his mom, dad and little brother. He has long curly brown hair and his eyes are the color of the most beautiful ice blue. There's just this one thing about him that bugs me: he smokes marijuana. I know that it sounds awful and that's what I thought for a while too. However, he was honest about it from the beginning, saying it was for medical reasons...in the beginning. At the point, I've kind of just pushed that fact to the side. Honestly, I don't think he has the slightest idea what he's going to do with his life and I don't blame him. He's already had a run-in with the law, landed himself in jail for two years, came out a different person.

We met on a pen-pals website. Sent a message or two back and forth and then switched to emailing. This started in August of 2010 and we spent the rest of the summer emailing. Right before school started in early September, I got an iPod touch and we were soon friends on Facebook. He said that he'd looked up my email a while before but wanted to make sure he'd been daydreaming about the right girl. Soon after I got a Skype account and we started using the IM feature on there. A couple weeks into September he asked if he could call me on Skype. I didn't have a webcam but figured that hearing his voice would be enough so we gave it a try. We talked a couple of nights in a row. On about the 17th or so of September, he started telling me how much he liked me. On the 19th he asked me to be his girlfriend but I got nervous and freaked and pushed it aside. On the 21st, he tried again and I said yes. We didn't voice chat on Skype for a while but within the next time or two we did, he began telling me he loved me. I was scared of who knows what and it took me a little while before I could say it back. People are going to say you can't fall in love at 16 or 17 or even 18 but they don't know what you are feeling any better then you do. Don't listen to them, even if you think they're right. Believe in what you feel, not what others tell you you can or cannot.
