Aaand We're Back

We're Facebook official once again. ^_^ Proper boyfriend/girlfriend titles. He says he's been meaning to ask me for a few days now but the timing for it has never quite come up.

I realise that it sounds silly, but having the titles up on Facebook and being able to say "I have a boyfriend" or "He's my boyfriend" has actually been really liberating. It feels as though everything has been made much more tangible. Even with my understanding of our/primarily his situation as it was, I'm happy to have them back; not having them was never something I loved, simply something I was okay with, and since I was never going to be the one to bring it up, you can imagine my delight when he wanted to publicise it again!

On top of this, some of his family have been really, really supportive of not only him but our relationship and it's looking as though he'll be able to come for two weeks in the spring as opposed to the one week we'd originally thought. Though nothing's set in stone, we'll likely be booking soon as January rolls around. I am seriously so excited to start another official countdown! Especially since we'll be able to get to celebrate our year - well, verrry close to it - in person. Which should be absolutely romantic and lovely.

Cute! We finally went "facebook official" a few weeks back and I had tons of people be like "ABOUT TIME". Geeze I didn't realize it was so important to have it publicized on facebook I mean I was living with the guy...

Haha. There's something fun about it, I think. I'm not going to lie and say I don't like the comments and the likes on the status! :P It's fun. I like it because it's almost like a socially appropriate way to be like "Wheee! We're in a relationship and I'm happy! " without rubbing it in anyone's face. That's funny though. I'm not sure when/why Facebook became such an important part of relationship-type announcements!

Thats great! I'm glad he is feeling better, or as much as he can be. It's funny how people say it isn't about titles but it is so nice to actually have one. My SO refused to label us for months when we first met, he wasn't seeing anyone but we weren't bf/gf o_O

That's how we were in about Jan/Feb to the beginning of April. :P We were exclusive/dating but hadn't taken on the titles yet. It's been a similar situation for the past month and a half. I think another nice thing about the titles is they simplify things. :P And simple can be really nice sometimes.

Congrats! We also were exclusive from January but didn't announce it to everyone on FB until July. I agree, it was very nice to finally be able to have his name be the first on my profile

Awe...CONGRATS!!! I know people joke around about how its stupid for Facebook relationship statuses to mean something but ya know what it means something to me! and apparently to you! So grats again =)
