This wil be almost a year for us.. and we do some very romantic (and probably entirely too cutesy things).

His birthday is January 29 - so I'm going to send a package with birthday and valentine's day stuff in it. Specifically for Valentines Day - I have some cute Hershey Kiss containers with kisses - and I am going to have to some boudoir photos taken and send him these. Not sure what else I will include.. I have other things picked out already for his birthday. Due to starting a new job, it's just easier to combine the two and send the package that way.

I have never had a valentine at all! this is our first Valentines day together and really my first valentines day in general celebrating with someone. I have no idea what to do, or if we are even doing anything. it's definitely interesting and helpful reading everyone's posts!

This will be our first Valentine's Day together--and we'll actually be together! Lucky how my birthday and Valentine's day just happen to be a week apart from each other . We're going to have a very special night planned together: romantic dinner, dancing, dressing up all nice, us being dorks as usual, maybe something extra special later that evening.. I can't wait. I really can't wait to be there with him. Before I started dating him, I hated Valentine's day. Now, I can see what the big deal is :3. I mean, it's commercialized and every day with him is a gift all that but still, I can never have too many extra special days with him.

well last Valentines day he had red roses and a teddy bear delivered to me.. which isn't cheap to do in Australia! It was very sweet and pretty much the highlight of Valentines day, the rest of the day we treated pretty much normal and spent the night skyping when he was home from work (which is usual for us)

This year I'll be with him in England on the day. We'll be staying in a hotel for 2 weeks during my stay and Valentines day falls in the middle of the hotel stay..(staying at the hotel is out of need, not choice but it'll be fun anyway) So we'll have privacy and access to nice restaurants a few minutes walk away. We're trying not to spend too much during my visit because we're having to pay a fair bit for accommodation.. but on Vday we'll loosen the rules on money and treat ourselves to a nice meal and just spend the evening together just being 'us'. Nothing too crazy

It'll be my first Valentines day actually spending it 'In person" with a boyfriend.. I always seemed to break up within a few months before vday and last year I was with my SO but we weren't able to be together on the day (silly LDR)

My SO and I aren't really big on celebrating Valentine's Day. There's no particular reason why. We just don't see what the big deal is. However, we do send each other a card and skype on the day. Besides that, my birthday is the week before. He shouldn't have to get me an extra present a week later just because it's a holiday.

our anniversary happens to be v-day (or so my SO says, tho i personally think its the 16th just so it doesn't look so obvious and sterotypical!!)

last year we were CD, so we went to a lovely restuarant. i'm hoping to go down and stay for this years- and doubly hoping he'll have arranged alil something nice.
                >>or atleast a nice bottle and chinese!!

we give lil gifts and dont overspend as both our birthdays are in march.

As a rule, we don't spend much on Valentine's Day- it's always home-made or semi-home-made gifts. Last year I did this: https://members.lovingfromadistance....ets-snap-happy

^^ good gift for those who are broke but own/can borrow a camera I also bought a USB stick and filled it with youtube vids, a play list, photos etc he loved them both.

This year I am doing this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/What-I-Love...6058666&sr=8-1

not as spectacular as last year, but he was given a grand romantic gesture for christmas so he can settle for something normal for a change

I really thought we'd be able to spend Valentine's together this year, but alas the immigration office has been very slow processing my visa, so it's another skype movie date for us till next year

I don't know exactly what I'm getting him yet, but I'll get him some sort of cutesy card and some other homemade inexpensive yet thoughtful gift or something.. And Oovoo chat like usual His birthday is almost exactly a month later too so I get to think of something for that too. We always oovoo basically every day/night but we'll take notice of the day, though there's not too much extra special and we're both limited on our finances but cards are relatively inexpensive.. yeah so.. I really want to make him something though.. just not sure what exactly yet..

Our first was LD, and we did nothing. Second was LD and we exchanged packages. I think we did a lot of handmade things? >.< I'm sorry... my memory is fail. Third I was sick and pregnant and miserable and taking it out on him. This year we will probably exchange cards, and watch a disney movie with our son, who will be days from 9 months old at the time - and has hardly seen any tv in his life. I think he'd like it though. Maybe beauty and the beast or some such... ?

We have been lucky enough to visit on or around Vday since we have been LDR. We are somewhat modest, I usually get flowers and he usually gets something goofy like a scrapbook and we go out to dinner. This year we will probably have to celebrate early since its on a Tuesday, but I think for the actual Vday since we will be LD maybe we can both cook matching dinners and have matching wine and do a skype date of some sort. I was wondering if there are some funny like virtual vacation websites that we could do that night. I might look around for something like that, haha its cheesy but oh well.

Last year we were close distance. We watched a movie and exchanged gifts. He got me a giant stuffed bear that said I love you on it. Unfortunately when we broke up for that short time, I gave it away. At least some other girl out there loves it. He also got me chocolates and roses. I got him presents but I can't remember what they were! Whoops. I know there was candy involved. Our anniversary was only a month later and he cooked me a candlelight dinner.

This year he's going to try to come down here but so far it looks like we'll be long distance. I'm going to get him a subscription to NFL magazine (he's obsessed with football and it's only $20 for a 12 issues/1 year). I also want to send him something candy-related and make him something. I really love Nicole's idea that's posted above and I think he would too!

This is going to be our second Valentine's Day, and will be spent apart again. We generally send each other presents and Skype for a little while. It's nothing too special, as we both don't have a ton of money. I'm going to be visiting him the weekend prior to Valentine's Day, so the 3rd to the 5th. Maybe we'll celebrate then. I'll probably send him a care package with a few little cute things, I tend to hand make a lot of things for him, and I'll send him a card of course. I am painting him a jar that will say "I'll pretend that I'm kissing those lips I am missing" and will be putting Hershey's Kisses in it. I painted another jar last year with a different design on it and he loved it! I'm also looking into maybe buying him customized M & M's. It'll be nice, whatever I decide. He sent me a beautiful necklace last year. It's an anatomically correct heart, as I love biology!

Love the jar idea, especially because I love the Beatles and All My Loving.

Aww thanks! Me too! Also, 3 days after Valentine's Day, we'll be together a year and a half, and last year, that was our 6 months, so we try to make it more special because we're celebrating both around then.
