Please note: this thread isn't intended to make anyone feel bad about their LDR, or inspire negative comparisons between members of LFAD. I thought it might be interesting to see how we measure to the statistical average (because I'm a bit of a demographics nerd!), but if anyone finds this topic in any way disheartening do let me know. I thought I'd better say that before I write anything else

The following table shows both the average (median) response and the range of 95% of LDRs from a sample of over 200 (link to source):

How far apart do they live?

Average: 125 miles
95% range: 30 miles to 950 miles
My SO and I: 213 miles

How often do they visit one another?

Average: 1.5 times a month
95% range: once a week to once every four months
My SO and I: about once every other month

How often do they call one another?

Average: once every 2.7 days
95% range: at least once a day to once a month

We're pretty much the average there, minus writing each other letters. And I guess we'll be apart LD for closer to 23 months haha. And we skype, cause calling costs a lot!
