LDR TATTOOS?

This is my first thread =D
Anyways, I have 4 tattoos, 3 of which stem back to my relationship and I was wondering if anyone else has done this too or thought about it?

I have 2 tattoos, none of which is related to my relationship. I have always been wary about getting tattoos done related to relationships ie getting their name tattooed on you or the likes because, even though i want to be optimistic it is gonna suck if you have Berta tattooed on your buttcheek and you are dating Susanne, ya know.
I like tattoos because they all have some sort of story behind them, and it is always up to the individual if they want to get tattooed or not but i would consult my SO first before i got one that would be related to our relationship. Just so i know she won't flip her lid if i come home with a monopoly board tattooed on my forearm.

I dont have one but I did tell him I'd get his name tattooed on my boobs hahaha
If I get a tattoo releated to my LDR than it will be in a few years like when we moved together, married etc

I got the first tattoo 3 months into our relationship, the next 3 months after and the next another 3 months after. I tried to make them creative so in case anything happened it wouldn't be like totally awful. I swore I would never have any of them covered cause I'm not ashamed of being that in love and that I'll never regret our relationship and it was part of me and it always will be. My gf thinks it's weird to see her lips on my stomach, she still can't believe I'm done that lol

I have 5 tattoos, but non of them are related to my relationship. I'm not against the idea of getting a tattoo related to my relationship sine we have a lot of inside jokes and things like that.

As long as it's not tacky and out for the whole world to see I think it's a cute way to show you're committed. If I sit under a needle for you I have to love you.

I would do other things to show my SO that i love her before i would think about getting a tattoo regarding our relationship. But that is because it is not in my nature to do that, for others they will show love that way.
I would rather try and track down her favourite childhood book and surprise her with it, so she knows that i listen to her and what she says.

me and my ex have matching tattoos... i have two corpse flowers in my sleeve... and he got one on the back of his calf. when we got them done we agreed it was a good idea not to make them too relationship related because some relationships just dont last. Im glad we made that decision. I would gladly get a tattoo to represent mine and kyles relationship but not something that was too related to us specifically. I just feel like if for some reason we broke up like brandon and i did then i would hate the tattoo, but having a tattoo that reminds me of that time in my life makes it more meaningful without having a weirdness to it.

I dont have any tattoo's. Simply because i don't like putting something like that on your body, :/ its so permanent. Therefor i dont really know if its so smart to tattoo anything that has to do with your SO. If you would be married you can do it. But you never know what may happen (not that i wish anything bad to happen). Anyway tattoo's are not my thing, i'll just remain blank :P.
But once in a while i see someone with a cute little tattoo, which looks really nice on them

Oh! MTK's idea with the childhood book is very nice =). You'll get to learn something about your SO and you can talk about the book with him/her and moreover reading is fun!

i love dedication tattoos and ones about people, i have one on my foot for my grandad. i want to get one for my SO but in the future, and i wouldnt get his name, id get something that meant something to us but wasnt obvious to the outside world, and if we ever broke up i wouldnt have PHIL in a tramp stamp across my back :P

We both got tatted with 3 red dots on our left ring fingers. I joke with him and say he could always take a ring off but this mark is forever. We haven't gotten married yet, but it was a way to show our love for each other. We still talk about getting another matching tattoo, we have a few ideas, but nothing solid yet.

I think it's kinda silly to do the relationship tattoo thing, mainly if you're getting stuff like dates or names done. Statistically those are the most regretted tattoos people get. But if it's some sort of symbolism, so long as you don't have to instantly relate it to the person then I don't see the problem. I've been around so many people with names on their arms or ankles, you ask them who this person is, they make a face and say 'my ex'. Even in high school, that's the scary part.

Course me I guess I can't talk since I've been debating a small rabbit tattoo to put on the back of my neck, but that'll be tattoo #2 if it ever gets done. Still working on the details of #1 which is unrelated to my relationship.
