    Curiosity is killing me ..

I don't know how to put this without getting the OBVIOUS answer. I just need some words to get me bye until the curiosity is over. I'll give you as much info as i can so you can help me as best as you can.

So you all know i went to visit my SO 24th May - 2nd June.
I came onto my period on the 25th May just a day after i landed.
26th May was the last day i look my pill.
27th May - 2nd June we had unprotexted sex whilst on my period.

I'm not uneducated or stupid before anyone marks remarks how angry they get with uneducated people .. i was on the depo inejecion from the age of 16-20 to prevent me from getting prenant. However, I genuinely never knew you could get pregnant WHILST on your period until i returned home and asked my mum. I lost my strip of pills while i was in american and thats the reason we went unprotected and as i said because i thought i had no chance of possinly becoming pregnant whilst on my period i didnt think to getting any condoms or anything.

Ok so, My periods havent ecxactly been regular as i had 2 in the month of may ( my last period ) so i should really be due on around 24th - 26th June. But because im not sure if my periods are going to work this way i wont know if i am potencially 'late' or not. But i just dont feel normal. I am getting up at 3am to make a sandwhich as im hungry. Im eating bigger portioned foods, My belly is rather bloated as if i was due on my period or like when you eat alot and you have a food baby going on. well thats basically my belly atm all the time! My boobs are a little tender when i come to think of it buts it not something i thought about. (without being really crude and sounding vile) But i have also got quite a lot of mucusy discharge nore than i noramlly would the past week. To the point where i feel like i just come on my period!!

This could be all be conincidental bla bla ba, but i was wondering would it even be possible to see any sign if i was pregnant at this stage? Id be a little less than 4 weeks .. or just about 4 weeks. I know i can just go and get a test done but i dont want go go and get it done too early it comes back negative and then im thinking 'well i did do it too early to tell' .. mums to be, mummies anyone with a bit of knowledge thn me could you please help.

    Thanks

Hey I am no expert so I can't give you a specific answer to your question, but right after my SO's last visit I had some questions similar to yours, and asked in this forum: https://www.medhelp.org/forums/list
You signup, pick from the list of topics and ask a doctor, specialist in that area, who asnwers you. My issue was very complicated but the woman gave me a quick and thorough answer, which time proved to be correct! So maybe they can help you too! Good luck!

You typically ovulate about two weeks after your period, if you have a standard cycle, so it's unlikely you were ovulating so soon after a period, although it is possible.

However, you say you are/were on the pill, so if you had sex during the scheduled pill free week and had taken your pill as normal for the three weeks up until then, you should be covered.

In terms of finding out, do a test the first day after your period is due (So June 25?). That should be enough time for the pregnancy hormone to show in your urine.

I do think the mind has a lot to answer for - if you think you could be pregnant, you often start noticing symptoms and stuff that you wouldn't have thought of before. I was the same when I had a scare once, felt like my boobs were aching, like I was bloated, didn't feel right. But I wasn't pregnant!

I was placed on the pill that i have to take evry day without a week break because of the migraines i used to suffer from. The nurse told me if i have sex 12 hours after issing ym pill i could get pregnant as i wouldnt be covered.

Well, on the drinking front, the baby doesn't share a blood supply (which is how the alcohol would get into the baby's body) with its mum for the first few weeks so I wouldn't worry overly.

It could be the early stages of your period kicking in. I know i get symptoms a full week before I get mine. Also, like what Kattermole said, sometimes its mind over matter. If you think you're pregnant then your body will react that way.

I can only say that most of the times I worried, my period was late because of stress.

Calm down, wait few more days (easy to say I know) And whatever happens happens.

                good luck!

I'm not really a professional when it comes to this, but I did get pregnant during my first year of college. Around 5 weeks, you'll possibly have morning sickness. Around five weeks, you can get an ultrasound to see if there's a fetus there, which is more accurate when it comes to taking pregnancy tests.

But from the symptoms you've said, it sounds like you're just going to get your period soon. My boobs get tender and I get pretty bloated the two weeks before my period. I would just wait and see if you're period comes in the next two weeks. If it doesn't, I would definitely go and get a test, preferably the ones that come in a pack of two or three. And when doing it, try to pee in a cup and take it that way. It's a lot easier than trying to pee on it. :P

If you want any personal advice about what I went through and resources I used to get through it, totally feel free to message me!

That sounds more like when I'm about to start my period a week before, the uncomfortable feeling. Plus, sometimes stress causes it.

I'd request a blood test from your GP. I would in the mean time just calm down because this sounds
like stress coupled with the on set of your period.

You can't really know until you take a test or go see a doctor, but in the meantime I would try not to jump to conclusions just yet. As hard as that may be to do lol I thought I was pregnant about a year ago and started suddenly having "symptoms" I thought I was more hungry then usual, more tired, more emotional. But it was more in my head. And then when the real thing came, I had next to no symptoms at all other then a late period. ( whole first trimester I think got sick twice, and had less of a appetite) So you can never really tell for sure with symptoms.

I say just wait this week out, the missed period is the easiest way to know, then to get a test. But I hope everything works out how you want!
